Job Summary:

The AVP/Director of Project Management Office – Physical Distribution reports to the VP, Physical Distribution and is responsible for projects within our distribution center management strategy.  Specifically, they will focus on the network strategy, directing the coordination of Mixing Centers within the Consumer Products Division.

Job Requirements:

  • DC operations experience; additional Supply Chain experience is welcomed
  • Strong collaboration skills and demonstrated strengths managing across boundaries (internal and external)
  • Knowledge depth in project management and change management
  • Strong, decisive leader with effective interpersonal skills
  • Personal depth of knowledge and the ability to teach and coach others

Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for defining, planning, tracking and managing the project(s) assigned.
  2. Strategic Focus: understands what is needed now to drive progress and what capability will be needed in the short and long-term future.
  3. Documents and institutionalizes using controls and scorecards to ensure lasting project benefits. Identifies and leverages best practices across the DC organization.
  4. Identify key resources and provide direction required for meeting project objectives. 
  5. Management of customer and supplier involvement throughout the life of the project(s).
  6. Management of compliance with Quality, Safety, Health & Environmental (QSH&E) standards as well as with L’Oreal USA policies & procedures. 
  7. Develop strong cross-function partnership with Customer Care, systems integrations teams and IT to drive a step change in customer service
  8. Responsible for identifying and implementing future productivity and cost optimization opportunities in alignment with the distribution center management strategy

Required Skills:

  1. BA/BS degree required with Supply Chain or Engineering preferred
  2. 7-9 years of experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment  with proven ability to lead projects of large scope
  3. Strong communication skills; organized; process oriented
  4. Strong management experience, analytical skill, process management
  5. Strong collaboration skills and demonstrated strengths managing across boundaries (internal and external)
  6. Ability to lead and motivate people and encourage teamwork
  7. Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Outlook
  8. Preferred:  SAP experience 
  9. Role is located in Clark, NJ, with travel up to 25-50%
