 Urban Decay is seeking a AVP of Social Media to join our team in Newport Beach, CA.



 The Assistant Vice President of Social Media is responsible for developing and managing the execution of strategic social media and digital initiatives, including the development of campaigns and content creation. This position will oversee all social media channels, campaigns, team members, outside agencies and partners, drives engagement on Urban Decay’s social platforms globally.



  • Oversee the social media department including community management, content, influencer relations, and advertising team
  • Work closely with the VP of Marketing to ensure that the Urban Decay brand voice is properly presented across all international social media channels
  • Develop clear social media policies and guidelines for content development, publishing, and community management on social platforms across the company
  • Oversee the creation of regularly released social media best practices an updates as social channels evolve
  • Execute content and creative development for our owned channels (email, organic social, website) and retailer platforms
  • Partner with global marketing to create social-first 360-degree campaigns
  • Conduct usability tests to gauge content effectiveness. Gathering data and handle analytics and make recommendations based on those results
  • Create clear social media goals across all platforms and consistently analyze and track to keep senior management aware of progress
  • Conceptualize and execute social, influencer and digital marketing campaigns

  • Experience driving affinity/engagement type KPI’s with Digital content 

  • Experience in content development and influencer marketing/relationship 

  • Superior leadership skills – including team leadership, thought leadership, problem solving, collaboration
  • Strong experience with developing and executing strategic plans and marketing plans
  • Solid background/skills in analytics and data driven business planning 

  • Demonstrated creativity and creative management, including strong demonstrated experience in leading creative work and agency partnerships 

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral 

  • Great interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate with both business and technical resources.
  • Must be able to work autonomously and be highly self-motivated
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage large cross-functional teams



  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds



Education/ Experience/ Licenses or Certifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 10+ years marketing to consumer experience required. 5+ years social media experience required
  • Interest and knowledge in a beauty, hair and makeup industry



  • Standard MS Office applications
  • Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and/or InDesign a plus
