Assistant Vice President - Supply Chain Planning

The Supply Chain Planning AVP will be accountable for forecasting, service and inventory in the US. They will be the point of contact to the division for all Supply Chain related issues and opportunities, and as such, be a member of their Executive Committee. They will manage a team, consisting of: Demand Planning Director/Managers/Analysts and Procurement Manager/Analysts.

Demand Planning:

In creating a Consensus Forecast, they and their team will Partner with Sales, Marketing, Operations and Finance to develop an accurate demand forecast for all SKUs by channel and/or customer.  Accountable to provide focus and integration of data from Marketing, Sales, Customer Marketing, and Finance, which are used to develop accurate and timely forecasts supporting Operations, Sales and Financial Planning.

Ensure consistency of forecast assumptions across the business unit, including base business trends, promotional plans, new launch volumes, planogram changes and seasonal volume.

 Responsible for understanding and reinforcing manufacturing, marketing and financial processes to link/align with forecasting processes. 

Provide guidance / oversight of SKU level forecasts, to ensure alignment with business direction and consistency with market trends. Present reconciliation of sales forecasts to Financial Budget, and quantify gaps to drive a “one-number” forecast.

Oversee the team’s use of Logility to create Statistical Baseline forecasts. Maximize utilization of the tool to enable team to focus on exception based value added forecasting.

Accountable for multi-echelon forecast synchronization and accuracy: National DC, and stores.

Supply Planning:

Accountable for the inventory planning for six DC’s: Service, inventory, quality of inventory, on time delivery.

Utilize the SAP MRP tool to maximize service and inventory turnover.

Manage end of life process for SKU discontinuations throughout the supply chain.

Minimize E&O creation and facilitate disposition

Facilitate SKU Rationalization, Add/Delete process for US Division

Collaborate with MSL on the service and inventory management of national DC, with a focus on launches and promotions

Shared responsibility with MSL on National DC Service and inventory.



  • Minimum 10 years of significant Supply Chain experience with strong exposure to Demand Planning, preferably in the cosmetics industry, but open to experience in fast-paced CPG industry
  • Robust experience managing and developing demand planning staff (both junior and very senior levels)
  • BS/BA in Supply Chain, Business Management or Engineering a must; MBA preferred
  • A successful team leadership track record demonstrated by proven results through engagement and development of a team oriented culture
  • Strong knowledge of plant logistics KPIs including managerial experience in production planning, materials management and inventory control operations
  • Robust experience in demand planning a must. Additional prior experience in supply planning  or Manufacturing Supply Chain (Plant Logistics) a strong plus
  • Experience working with various forecasting tools ; technology savvy: SAP, sensitive to IT stakes, advanced Excel; Project management skills
  • Well-developed communication and influencing skills with an emphasis in analysis and problem solving; thorough change management skills
