JOB SUMMARY:

The Demand Planning Analyst is responsible to forecast product demand at the item and brand level utilizing a statistical and collaborative planning tool.   Items forecasts are shared with partner brands and internal teams in a collaborative effort to align on strategies/goals.  Future demand for items/brands will align with business strategies and long-range plan for each brand with supporting analyses and assumptions. The detailed information contained in the long-range forecasts is for business planning, sales and operations planning, supply planning and financial planning. A key focus of the demand planning analyst will be dimensioning the size of new items launches and promotional activity, as well as allocation, analysis and potential cannibalization and incrementalism of items/promotions presented by partner brands. The demand planning analyst is accountable for specific communication and collaboration vehicles used amongst internal SalonCentric partners including but not limited to Sales, Supply Chain, Marketing and Finance organizations, including running cross-functional consensus meetings and fully participating in channel and brand meetings.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for internal and external communication of brand forecasts, working with a subset of brand partners and SalonCentric Category Management to ensure appropriate availability of products from brands to our customers
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc analyses (e.g. in-month projections, anticipated account inventory buy-downs, margin enhancement buy in’s…etc.) to gain endorsement to the forecast at the Customer/Brand level, with a focus on Regular Flow Business, Promotions, and New Product Launches
  • Ensure alignment of Logility, SAP and Passport forecasts for long term planning
  • Interact with vendors regarding planning strategies
  • Accurately forecast (within a tolerance) demand for partner brand items
  • Analyze performance and productivity of launches/promotions
  • Size promotions and new items presented from partner brands in Passport tool
  • Provide analysis to drive alignment on decisions related to Service and Inventory
  • Coordinate and Collaborate with Supply Chain Analysts
  • Provide continuous improvement to reporting (channel/brand summaries automated to lower levels, streamlined in-month reporting and projections, etc.)
  • Analyze the business to identify opportunities to gain/optimize margin
  • Minimize unproductive inventory via assortment planning, accurate forecasts and sku rationalization

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Excellent math and critical thinking skills required, as well as the ability to communicate at the appropriate level of detail or summarization
  • Ability to adapt to changing environment
  • Mid to advanced Excel skills. Desirable criteria & qualifications -Forecasting tool knowledge
  • ERP knowledge
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to interact effectively and professionally
  • Strong team player with an ability to work in a team environment and independently
  • Ability to improves processes and create efficiencies
