Job Summary: California licensed "barber" and or "cosmetologist" service provider and retail sales for Baxter Finley Barber & Shop. Responsible for using scissors or clippers to trim, cut, shave, or shape hair in a barbershop. Provides consultation to client, selects equipment, cuts hair, styles, and then blow-dries and finishes hair. Brand representative for Baxter Finley Barber & Shop and Baxter of California and is expected to operate in the best interest of the business. Miscellaneous marketing / promotional support as needed.
Key Job Accountabilities / Requirements
·Understand and embrace the BOC / Baxter Finley Barber & Shop brand and values
·Work with Shop Manager to forecast and achieve monthly, quarterly and yearly sales goals
·Work directly with customer to manage customer satisfaction and overall customer experience
·Complete necessary weekly time sheet accurately and in the required timely manner
·Assist in special events, pop-ups, educational classes, online promoting etc.
·Train or supervise other barber, assistants and management
·Stay informed of the latest styles and hair care techniques.
·Knowledgeable of the full line of Baxter of California products as well as how to apply products on clients
·Recommend and explain the use of retail products available for sale at BF
·Must adhere to local and state licensing laws and regulations – Maintain a current California Board of Barbering and or Cosmetology license at all times
·High School Diploma or GED required
·Must pass background check
·Able to work flexible days and hour – nights & weekends
·Reliable, dependable and punctual and maintain weekly appointment schedule
·Kind and generous of spirit, engaging personality, self-starter, and self-motivated
·Standing & walking is required 80% of the time, ability to lift 40 pounds. Ability to stoop, bend and squat so as to clean and stock work area, non-sales area(s) and off site stock room (if applicable)
·Follow shop rules at all times – Detail rules will be posted at BF at all times
·Clean and sanitize tools such as scissors and combs, clippers and other instruments
·Maintain a clean work station, sweep floors after each client, and sharing shop responsibilities (laundry, cleaning, phones etc.…) is required at all times.
·All barbers are required to dress and appear in a neat, well-groomed and professional manner. No opened-toe shoes are allowed
·Cell phone use (including texting) is not permitted on the haircutting floor at any time
·During the period they are contracted to perform services for Baxter, barbers are not permitted to solicit Baxter Finley clients for non-Baxter Finley related services including but not limited to engagements for private haircutting or barber services.
