Basic Purpose of Position:

As the Director of Corporate Retail & Promotional Purchasing you will be responsible for managing and executing projects based upon the sourcing road map/savings timeline across L’Oreal USA in close partnership with your business stakeholders. You will report directly into the AVP Retail & Promotional Purchasing for Displays and Merchandising. You will be accountable for improving sustainability initiatives within the Retail Area through large cross functional/ cross division projects. You will engage into strategic sourcing, supplier management, continuous cost and performance improvement, and innovation while participating in major savings projects for our organization. 

You are expected to demonstrate a high level of industrial knowledge, construct innovative competencies within purchasing as well foster an ideal area for corporate communication, analytical and financial skills to promote positive working relationships with business partners and suppliers.

Responsibilities:

·        Manage Retail Sustainability project

o   Analyzing Business Data

o   Develop methods of improving and maintaining key performance metrics to reduce cost to business

o   Develop Strategic plan for reduction (cost, material, size, transport)

o   Gain stakeholder support

o   Outline process gaps and methods for performance enhancement

o   Provide Sr. Management a path to advance Retail Sustainability

o   Ensure the successful implementation of  sustainable strategies

·        Support Strategic Sourcing within Retail Display/Merchandising category

o   Collaborate with global sourcing partners to attain financial and global goals

o   Partner with regional procurement managers on major brand specific projects

o   Analyze business by tracking opportunities to improve value

o   Identify industry trends, provide market analysis and supplier strategy

o   Participate in formal source selection with divisional teams; conduct formal cost/price analysis, fact-finding and formal negotiations

Experience / Education:

  • Undergraduate degree in related technical discipline or purchasing; Master degree or other advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience in related fields
    • Display and Merchandising
    • Understand the technical industry terms and materials, ability to identify alternative materials in industry
  • Knowledge of technical discipline
  • Display/Merchandising /Retail Environment

Skills:

·        Excellent oral/written communication skills and presentation skills

·        Strong time management /prioritization skills as well as program/project management skills

·        Comfortable analyzing data

o   Data quality methodology and data modeling skills

o   Knowledge of integration concepts as they relate to sourcing data from different sources

·        Outstanding functional and technical communication skills

·        Self-motivated, results-oriented, strategic thinker

·        Strong computer skills necessary (All Microsoft Office programs) with heavy focus on PowerPoint

·        Communication skills/ Ability to develop Senior stakeholder relations and to present to Sr. Management

·        Strong leadership and ability to influence decision
