Title: Customer Sales and Marketing Manager, L’Oreal Active Cosmetics Division

Reports to: Director – National Accounts

Location:  Office based, downtown Minneapolis


The Customer Sales & Marketing Manager will support the Field Sales account team in managing key retailer. Manager will work with internal and external partners in the development and execution of go-to-market brand-strategies for their specific account. 

 Roles & Responsibilities/Key Results

  • Provide in-depth analysis and insights of sales fundamentals to gain share profitably of their account
    • Includes analyses of account specific events, gross-to-net, shipments, retail sales, and new item sales tracking
    • Proactively forecasts shipments and retailer sales to address gaps and opportunities with support of National Account Manager
  • Support Account Director in developing account plans and the account forecast process
  • Interact with the retailer’s buying group and take the lead on managing L’Oreal and customer initiatives
  • Work closely with Brand Marketing teams to develop effective support plans and ensure that national strategy is aligned with needs of the retailer
  • Manage the development of promotional materials with internal teams and ensure proper execution at retail
  • Leads execution of all account-specific events
  • Category expert for the brand and competitive products at retail customer

Customer Developer

  • Analyze and define the relevant growth levers at customer with specific focus on brand-growth and retailer development
  • Understands brand principles and identifies opportunities to implement national brand strategy in and through the mass-retail environment
  • Participant in strategic account-meetings including: Business Updates, Line-Reviews, & Joint-Business Planning

Team Member

  • Requires frequent travel to New York Headquarters to meet and collaborate with brand-marketing, sales operations, and other related functions and departments
  • Ability to interact and present to senior leaders
  • Team-player with a willingness to lead other team members through projects

Category Support

  • Develops opportunities from top door analysis, new item and hero item evaluation, Joint-Business Planning tracking
  • Brand expert on all category analysis for own brand, competitive brands and overall category

Freedom to Act

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects at one time and meet required deadlines


  • 4 year college degree
  • CPG background with 5+ years of experience working with mass-retail in a sales, marketing, or category management capacity
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
