Product Development: Responsible for strategically developing and managing all Category product development for new and existing products. Overall responsibility for formula and shades development and launch materials, while liaising with other stakeholders to execute.

 

Key responsibilities are:

  • Manages and orchestrates the end-to-end product development process by collaborating with all departments involved to ensure operational excellence, both for new products and changes to existing products
  • Coordinates and ensures the consistency of the key phases of product formula and shade definition, design, industrialization and manufacture
  • Partners with Marketing on strategy and concept Ideation
  • Collects consumer, market insights and findings from the zone, countries and Global Brand Experience to ensure the consistency of new product development with the country’s needs for both formula and shade
  • Translates R&I platform technologies into consumer relevant ideas/benefits/RTB
  • Leads comprehensive analysis on both category and segments to determine overall product/shade trends and white space opportunities
  • Attends all key trade shows (CosmoProf, MUNY, In Cosmetics, etc) for emerging innovations to identify breakthrough product, package or trend opportunity for 2 year Panier
  • Drives vendor relationships to identify new product/package opportunities as well as emerging techniques and usage patterns that can be applied to new/restage products
  • Advises Global Category Innovation on product portfolio mix based on trends, insights and feedback to confirm concept validation
  • Monitors the product portfolio (new launches, pillar products’ renewal and animation of core catalogue)
  • Co-leads with Development and relevant stakeholders industrial feasibility of a product and gains alignment with Global Product Innovation
  • Acts as the Business Team primary interface with R&I to translate the product idea into industrially usable technical terms enabling the development and industrialization of the formulas and production resources
  • Responsible for approving 1st production batches on-site to ensure on-time delivery of new products
  • Manage formula cost to meet set objectives and provides formula information to Global Product Innovation teams
  • Drives integrated Sharing Beauty With All launch plan

 

Job Requirements:

  • 8+ years of related business experience
  • In depth knowledge of:
  • Technical understanding of formulas and shades
  • Product development process
  • Product portfolios/options within Category 
  • Consumer package goods or beauty industry experience is preferred
  • PC Proficiency (Microsoft Suite) 
  • Collaborative leadership skills
  • Project Management Skills
  • Prioritization & Organization Skills
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills (written and oral)
  • Demonstrated L’Oréal Competencies: Leadership, Entrepreneurial Management, Achiever, and Innovator
