Director – Regional Sales (Kerastase & Shu Uemura)

Southeast Region

Location to be based in:  Atlanta, GA OR major cities in FL


The Regional Sales Director is responsible for effectively managing sales and business development for the Kerastaste and Shu Uemura: Art of Hair brands in the Southeast region.  Will meet and exceed established sales goals through strategic business planning, management and coordination with Business Development Managers (BDM) assigned to region. Develop and partner with Business Development Managers in order to expand Kérastase and Shu Uemura: Art of Hair presence in each market, while ensuring the direct, high-touch salon relationships are enriched and maintained.  The successful Regional Sales Director will identify and respond to opportunities that build market share long term, as well as maximize sales in the short term.  The position must uphold the integrity of the brand by following and ensure proper communication of key initiatives, expectations, and goals to territory.

  • Understand and envelop the Kérastase and Shu Uemura: Art of Hair luxury message as well as identify and implement the correct image for the Brands to ensure positioning as the luxury leader in the professional market
  • Manage all markets within territory to meet and exceed sales and new door objectives. 
  • Establishes management presence and develops working relationships with key accounts
  • Manage and develop Business Development Managers to successfully accomplish all sales and individual goals and assists in ensuring relationships are built with key accounts
  • Develops strategies and systems to ensure effective, proper and supportive communication

     between team members

  • Work cohesively with Assistant Vice President, Sales to carry out job duties which reinforce the needs for sales and marketing ideas, growth, projects and end results
  • Establish strong working partnerships with regional counterparts and education teams as well as people from the New York Office to acquire key resources, obtain problem solving advice and take advantage of assistance in highly critical negotiations
  • Creatively fosters leadership and entrepreneurship to develop efficiency of team on a regional and national level
  • Manages and organizes requests for information to and from the New York Office, including compiling data and other reports    
  • Initiates and holds each market accountable for market analysis and viability reports, including monthly and year-to-date goal reporting
  • Partakes in key management meetings at regional and national level to ensure effectiveness of team.  Ensures awareness of competition in each marketplace
  • Responsible for achievement of goals for open markets within region
  • Ensures that all new hires to team are well-trained, familiarized, and prepared to meet expectations set forth in their role by developing and implementing strong induction plans
  • Recruitment of external talent and development of internal talent to grow within the organization
  • In market field time: 80%

In order to excel, the Regional sales Director must be a strong self-starter who has confidence, persuasive communication skills and strong team management skill.  It is also essential to have the ability to inspire, as well as a contagious enthusiasm for the beauty and fashion industry.

Qualified Candidates:

  • Experienced Management & Sales experience from the salon or luxury beauty industry
  • College degree with at least 7-10 years of sales/retail background or related job experience
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout region.  Flexibility to work on weekends if needed
  • Effective leadership with the ability to develop and direct team members to successful

 completion of projects and goals

  • Self motivated, results oriented, creative thinker
  • Strong communication, presentation and organizational skills
  • Analytical approach to identifying opportunities
  • Must effectively monitor, analyze, interpret and communication business information
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships with business partners and clients
  • Cosmetologist license or experience behind the chair a plus
  • Technically savvy and with sound computer skills required – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel,  

 PowerPoint, Outlook),
