For L'Oréal, beauty is above all a scientific adventure. This conviction is reflected in the central role of its Research & Innovation, which deploys its teams around the world to imagine and create the products of tomorrow. Research and Innovation teams, whose number has increased eight-fold in 20 years, constantly strive to be at the forefront of scientific advances, working in collaboration with the world's leading experts in each field. The results of their work are subject each year to several hundred patent applications and give rise to thousands of formulas. Research and Innovation is today more than 3,800 researchers in thirty disciplines, from basic research to product development through applied research.

Our research team focuses on the role of barrier function of the skin in its normal and disordered states (Dry, aged, sensitive, stressed skin).  We are looking forward to applications from highly motivated and experienced (cellular-molecular) biologists / biochemists / bioengineers demonstrating passion for invention/innovation. The candidate will be in charge of developing our skin immune barrier activity with a special interest on the role of skin-Microbiota-Immune interactions. Special focus will be on skin functions such as barrier formation, skin regeneration after a stress, epidermis differentiation. As part of a larger research group the candidate will have to develop research projects in interaction with different internal or external research teams in a strong scientific, technological and clinical research environment.

Provide up-to-date expertise in (skin) biology and immunology

Manage projects (plan, execute, coordinate, communicate) and deliver in research activities

Performing his/her own experiments within a research team

Supervision of the experiments performed by technicians, PhD fellows and/or master students

Communicate effectively with key business stakeholders to identify business needs, disruptive concepts and assist businesses in translation of scientific findings into applications and product development

Identification of internal and external partners and establishment of strong cooperation and cross-fertilizations

Applicants should have completed at least 5 years post PhD experience in Immunology with a strong expertise in cellular and molecular immunology, microbiology, preferentially with expertise in skin biology and affinity for neurobiology. A part of this experience is ideally in industry setting or in collaboration with industry partners

Having used and developed multicellular/3D models for knowledge and / or evaluation would be an advantage

Experience in managing / driving complex projects and building & managing relationships with key internal & external stakeholders

Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. French speaking is a plus

Collaboration and influencing skills in a multidisciplinary environment. Open minded and cooperation addict

Any experience in bioinformatics approaches to study the transcriptome, proteome or metabolome of immune and tissue cells is a plus
