Retail IT Systems Administrator (Manager)

Specialization: Systems / Server Administration


The position will provide technical leadership in administration of Retail platforms, production systems, and installation of retail store applications along with Level 3 based system support for L’Oreal 600+ retail B2C and B2B store operations

Technical Proficiency:

  • Strong Knowledge of Client Server technologies and architecture, familiarity with Windows operating systems and platforms
  • Experience in administration of on-Premise and Cloud-based servers as well as SQL Server and Oracle databases
  • Strong experience with application Installations specializing in Point-Of-Sale applications including installation into mobile devices
  • Experience in system design and architecture, ability to read and develop complex system diagrams
  • Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing IT operations’ best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
  • Working knowledge of batch scripting including PowerShell
  • IT certification in Microsoft and its cloud computing services is a big plus
  • Experience with CEGID or GK Point-Of-Sale platforms is a big plus

Key Accountabilities:

  • Perform Installations of POS applications (including full installs and hot fixes) across the zone
  • Design, develop and deploy POS and mobile POS related configurations and infrastructure changes
  • Perform system / servers health checks, write and support monitoring scripts
  • Troubleshoot system degradations, capture system logs and apply preventive measures to ensure stability of POS servers / environment
  • Administer implementation, monitoring and maintenance of Database performance scripts
  • Assist with migration and decommission legacy POS Application servers
  • Create and update system migration / support documentation
  • Interpret operational needs and resolve or escalate complications in a timely manner
  • Lead efforts in adhering to internal application change policies and system refreshes
  • Collaborate with Retail Infrastructure and various support teams on any POS related system or application upgrades, sizing of the environments (both on-Premises and Azure) or evaluation of new technologies
