Key Job Accountabilities for Category Manager Americas Sourcing strategy lead:

  • Develop, in collaboration with the internal stakeholders, category strategies that fit L’Oreal Business needs
  • Adapt the Category strategy communication, in collaboration with the Business teams, to the internal stakeholders
  • Contribute to and influence the WW Purchasing strategy
  • Bring Consumer, new brands and competitive insights in the strategies
  • Monitor and bring insights on Category trends (technical, market,…)
  • Collaboration cross functionally and cross divisionally

Economic Performance for the CM domain:

  • Master the supplier cost models and upstream markets
  • Category Benchmarking
  • Lead the domain level RFQ, RFP or RFI for her/his categories
  • Award business on the basis of firm proposals, quotations and objective criteria
  • Leading of negotiations and Category projects: cost saving projects accordingly to the 4 Purchasing levers (Needs, Costs, Market, Control) and with a bias for achievement of quality, logistic service, cost containment and process improvement
  • Sharing with the Americas Business teams and with the Category teams in Europe and in Asia

Supplier management:

  • Supplier’s Relationship Management (SRM): Develop and maintain systematic action plan for improving supplier’s relationship (based on the 5 L’Oreal KPI’s)
  • Systematically promote SBWA (Solidarity Sourcing, CDP,…)
  • Risk Management: Supplier risk follow up and action plan implementation
  • Full knowledge and application of established Purchasing procedures and full application of internal rules
  • Price list compliance for A class vendors at a minimum
  • Develop sensitivity to the L’Oreal Business in the Supplier business relationships
