The L’Oréal Tech Incubator (Augmented Beauty group) is looking for a passionate and entrepreneurial Product Manager to be a part of the technical transformation of the beauty industry, based out of our offices in San Francisco, California.  

 

The Product Manager is responsible for creating marketing product specification document (MRD) by understanding the market needs together with brands, translating MRD into technical product requirement document (PRD) by working closely with project managers, and putting together product roadmap and strategy.  You will be required to be innovative, strategic thinker, result-oriented, and customer-obsessed.  You will also be required to have deep understanding of user interface and user experience in both hardware and software. 

 

Position requires occasional domestic and international travel (10-20%)

You Will . . .

  • Create business case/model/plan, including but not limited to financial analysis, forecasting and pricing.
  • Write marketing requirement documentation/specification (MRD) with deep understanding of user interface and user experience, as well as the target market.
  • Translate MRD into detailed technical product requirement document/specification (PRD), which includes all the technical requirements together with the project managers and engineering team.
  • Conduct clear communication and coordination of requirements to the business, design and development teams.
  • Contribute to the overall product strategy, roadmap, and manage prioritization and trade-offs between specifications, customer experience, and time to market
  • Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team’s ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals
  • Conduct voice of customer research to understand the needs and trends of the market, and communicate to the cross functional team
  • Support brand marketing, including material development, presentations, and answering customer and sales questions

You Have . . .

  • 5+ years of experience in product management or product marketing
  • BS/MS in engineering, with an MBA (preferred)
  • Experience in Consumer Electronics, Consumer Products, Consumer Packaged Goods, Medical devices, or other consumer-facing and/or highly technical industries preferred
  • Experience with end to end product delivery and product lifecycle management
  • Experience in creating business case/plan for technology products, including roadmaps, strategy, and definition
  • Experience in creating go-to-market strategy
  • An Understanding of technology, engineering, and design capabilities
  • Excellent presentation skills, including slide deck creation, and verbal and written communication
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to documenting design activities throughout the development process
  • Strong attention to detail and have critical thinking capabilities
  • The ability to work in cross-functional teams
  • Authorization to work in the US on a permanent, ongoing basis without the need for sponsorship now or in the future
