Inside L’Oréal’s Research & Innovation Division, Product Performance Evaluation is responsible for working with our over 35 brands, marketing, and scientists to design studies, collect feedback, and make important conclusions regarding our products using the latest instruments, methodologies, and techniques. We are seeking a creative Senior Scientist to join our Instrumental, Clinical, Claims Team in Clark, New Jersey. As a key member of the team you’ll design, coordinate and execute clinical studies on skincare cosmetic and OTC products, as well as skin cleansers and makeup removers, claims substantiation and communication of product launches. In this function you will be working cross functionally with the Development Labs (Skincare and Skin Cleansing), Application Domains (Skin Transformation, Skin Cleansing, Anti-Aging, Skin Tone Management), as well as regulatory and claims legal teams.

You Will . . .

  • Attend project brief meetings and provide expertise and insights to stakeholders, thinking creatively and critically to troubleshoot and problem solve throughout the project lifecycle, and maintain strong communication throughout project on key updates and results
  • Research and propose ideas and methodologies to support claims and imagery to meet brand needs for skin care and skin cleansing launches

You Have . . .

  • Completed a Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years of relevant, industry experience, advanced degree candidates with less experience may be considered; preferred areas of study include Biological, Physical or Material Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or related fields;
  • Experience with study design and methodology development with a consumer centric approach a must
  • Experience coordinating product testing and negotiating with outside vendors;
  • Project management experience with multiple projects and varying priorities with high level of detail a must;
  • Effective and influential communication of results with relevant stakeholders
  • Experience in claims substantiation testing within cosmetics a plus;
  • Knowledge of US/ international cosmetics and OTC regulations a plus;
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to interact successfully with all levels of personnel cross-functionally, both written and verbal;
  • Statistical analysis/interpretation a plus
  • Experience with cosmetics, specifically skin care and cleansing products relationship a plus;

  • Capable of working in a matrix organization, including strong teamwork skills a must
  • Computer proficient: Excel, Power-Point, Word, Outlook;
  • Able to independently collaborate with key stakeholders a must
  • Legally eligible to work in the US on an on-going basis without the need for sponsorship;
