Processing Supervisor

Florence Manufacturing (Kentucky)

FLSA Status: Exempt

Section 3:  Job Requirements:

High School Diploma required;

Bachelors or technical degree desired;

3 – 5 years in processing or related operations/laboratory environment;

Specific, intimate knowledge of the processing equipment, procedures and people is critical;

Specialized technical training is not required; however, technically abilities and willingness to learn is critical to success;

Must be technically minded with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and product


Section 4:  Judgment and Decision Making:

Decisions made by the Processing Supervisor can directly impact Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Environment and Morale. They must make these decisions with only intermittent involvement from Supervision based on the knowledge gained from their trainings.

Safety: Fully supports an independent safety culture and works proactively to accomplish the safety mission in the plant of Zero Accidents.

Quality: Supports and embraces the quality mission of the plant.

Delivery: The ability of the supervisor to meet the production demands ensures that our customers receive our products on time.

Cost: Operation of the supervisor activities according to the standards ensure that cost to produce is aligned with the financials.

Environment: Supports and embraces the environmental mission of the plant.

Morale: Must be an actively engaged employee exhibiting a positive attitude and a focus on teamwork to achieve best in class results.


Section 5: Essential Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift 25kg;

Must be able to climb stairs frequently


Section 6:  Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

1. Supervises bulk compounding within the Processing department, resolves issues in a timely manner, ensures adherence to batching procedures, safety procedures and all GMP standards.

2. Responsible for training Processors on procedures, production, equipment use and chemical safety affecting the department and facility.

3. Responsible for reviewing and holding processors accountable for performance.  In addition to recognizing superior performance, must also work with Processors to improve upon performance weaknesses.

4. Work extremely close with the Short-term Planners to insure the right batch is weighed and made at the right time.

5. Tracks attendance and acts as first line of management for Processors with regard to vacation requests and other absences.  Ensures that appropriate recognition for attendance or counseling for attendance issues are given in a timely manner.

6. Provides coverage for other shifts during vacations or in the event of an unplanned absence.

7. Signs off on Processor hours with regard to eTime to ensure proper distribution of vacation, over-time and other time off for accurate processing of payroll.
