Purpose of role:


To support Head of Creative and other members of the team in the holistic development and delivery of creatively appealing and commercially viable creative material which is to brief and on time.  Collaborate with other members of the team to foster a creative agency approach.


Key Job Accountabilities:


  • Take creative brief and input innovative ideas, working closely with relevant parties in formulating concepts and copy, embedding self as an integral player in the Studio
  • Write in-store promotions, POS, ads, leaflets, CRMs, online content and packaging for The Body Shop’s global markets. Contribute towards the development of new range and product names
  • Prepare and present, in coordination with Head of Creative,work for internal creative reviews
  • Working closely with the Category team to contribute to development of range name, pack copy and promotional copy for new ranges and line extensions
  • To be an expert advisor in your field, contributing to the achievement of the creative strategy and translating the overall creative direction into copy as directed.
  • Partnering with others creative counterparts including design and packaging to ensure a 360 degree approach to creative. To encourage and promote shared learning in the creative team.
  • To effectively support the team, providing copy directions for projects, with a firm awareness of the brief, providing copy direction/ presentations as necessary
  • Ensure that all final copy is reviewed, approved and complies with all current ASA (Advertising Standards Agency) standards 

Requirements:

  • Copywriting experience gained within an advertising agency, retail environment, or other commercial writing experience
  • Conversant with the retail branding and communications sector
  • Knowledge of the Cosmetics and Toiletries sector and competitors
  • Capable of managing multiple projects
  • Excellent creative crafting skills – campaign concepts, headlines, name generation, information/functional copy and editing
  • Conversant with Word (Mac literate)
  • Excellent proofreading and copy-editing skills.
  • Ability to work within the style and language of The Body Shop
  • Knowledge of ASA guidelines preferred but not essential

Qualifications:

  • BA degree at 2:1 or above and/or qualification in advertising/design/art or related field
