Urban Decay is seeking a Product Development Director to join our team in Newport Beach, CA. 



Collaborate with Product Development AVP, Lip and GM of Product Development to research, concept, test and develop all products related to the lip category. Must have a great understanding of the beauty landscape, specifically lip. Need to be a creative, open-minded, beauty junkie. 




  • Research and knowledge of the category
    • brand selling, competition, customer review, market trends
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams including but not limited to the marketing team
  • Be able to write cohesive and complete product/packaging briefs
  • Initiate and present product concepts using both internal and external formulas
  • Initial and present packaging concepts from multiple suppliers
  • Be able to negotiate pricing as well as manage the project COGS
  • Manage critical dates for all timelines on each launch
  • Follow up with internal teams for execution of launch
  • Help write and approve product copy
  • Work with legal, R&I and claims departments associated with each launch
  • Work with marketing/sales/education to explain the product
  • Be able to present to small and large groups comfortably
  • Be willing to travel on short notice to various meetings and markets (international travel required
  • Attend meetings internal and external as needed including but not limited to retailer presentations, trade shows, labs, factories, etc.
  • Create and maintain vendor relationships
  • Must be extremely organized and able to adapt in a constantly changing environment; need to be proactive and good communicator
  • Must be self-motivated and independent yet very team oriented.

Education/ Experience/ Licenses or Certifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 6+ years of  related experience




  • Standard MS Office applications
  • Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and/or InDesign a plus
