L'Oréal, the world leader in cosmetics, is synonymous with beauty, innovation and scientific excellence in more than 130 countries.   We are currently seeking a candidate to be part of the Consumer & Market Insight (CMI) group.  

The CMI group provides insights and intelligence that facilitates management decision-making and Innovation. The CMI group forecasts market trends and competitive activity that could impact the L'Oréal business. The CMI group is dynamic, vibrant, agile and experimenting with cutting-edge tools and analysis techniques.

The co-op should be a graduate student with strong data analytics skills and the ability to analyze research to extract insights. This role is for a curious, self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented individual, who likes to experiment with digital tools and new data sources.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct desktop research
  • Parse and analyze data from a variety of databases and digital tools to discover insights about market dynamics and competitive activity
  • Correlate, compare and contrast data to identify patterns and trends
  • Create Excel spreadsheets and graphs/charts from the data
  • Produce Power Point slides with statistics, data points and graphs/charts to tell a story and illustrate findings and insights

Requirements:

  • A current student (Junior/Senior level) or College Graduate(max 1 year post grad)  with a strong math/finance/quantitative research aptitude (data analytics and numeracy are critical)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the US on an on-going basis.

This co-op role is for 16 hrs. per week (maximum) for 6 or 12 months (ideal for graduate students looking for a part-time job)


The role will be based in Hudson Yards (New York City)
