Function as primary liaison and interface person between the manufacturing plant and applicable marketing departments.  Develop the long-range production plan combining marketing and manufacturing requirements.  Coordinate and manage inventory levels, service levels, and maintain a consistent manufacturing operation.  Plan and control all new products launches for manufacturing including feasibility studies, cost estimates, and all relevant information flow to marketing, Technical Packaging., and R & I, and other involved work units for both new products and on-going business.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Issue long range production plan as required and review this plan with each operating unit to insure complete production attainment and proper prioritization for short term scheduling.
  • Control the flow of information to and from marketing departments concerning new product launches and on-going business.
  • Develop cost estimates and new project feasibility studies for marketing including manufacturing input which can improve timing and reduce cost of project launches.
  • Develop new inventory control systems that will improve material flow and reduce the days of supply on-hand as well as the liability for component inventory cost at vendors.
  • Install and maintain Material Planning Requirements including bill of material maintenance for new products.
  • Develop three (3) year plan, budget inventory plans, and financial trends on a routine basis for the control and management of inventory.
  • Manage and supervise all subordinate personnel.
  • Assist all production operating departments with control of component and work-in-process inventories.
  • Manage and control excess and obsolete inventory
  • Manage and implement all L’Oreal policies and practices including, but not limited to, the Corporation’s Equal Employment Policy and applicable safety and health procedures.
  • Perform other duties as necessary or required.

 

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Education: Minimum of a BS/BA in Business Management; MBA preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years significant experience in manufacturing operations in cosmetics or related field with at least five (5) years of related managerial experience in production and inventory control operations.
