Job Summary: 

To lead Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for end to end service delivery. To ensure that all objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and to appropriate quality standards. To maintain the Assets portfolio database and lead the process with the designated Real Estate companies on lease extensions, new sites.  Coordinate core responsibilities as safety and environment for all our projects.

Education/Qualifications:

This position requires a minimum of a bachelors degree.  Professionally qualified in one of the following fields: construction, project management, engineering, surveying, and architecture. Qualifications in Project Management or equivalent knowledge and experience.  Design, management or construction experience gained within the general construction, research environment desirable.  A minimum of 8-10 years project management experience, preferably gained within the general construction, research environment desirable.

Skills and Experience:

Professionally qualified in one of the following fields: construction, project management, engineering, surveying, and architecture or information technology.  Qualifications in Project Management or equivalent knowledge and experience.  Design, management or construction experience gained within the general construction environment.  A minimum of 8 years project management experience, preferably gained within the Industrial environment.  A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from project preliminary conception stage, through all of the operational stages to completion, commissioning and post-project review.  Excellent knowledge and experience of all of the main project management concepts, tools and techniques.  Experience of leading and facilitating the overall cross-functional project team for medium sized construction projects of medium to high complexity.  Experience of or sensitivity in the environment matters.  Detailed working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Helping to establish the overall success criteria for the project, including quality, safety, time,cost, technical and performance parameters.  Identifying and ensuring that the appropriate line manager is aware of quality, safety, health, environment and sustainability issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Be the representative of the Project outside the internal organization.  Animate and prepare the Steering Committees presentations.  Following the budget and associated trends.  Offers Planning to the Steering Committee.  Prepares the files for the selection of subcontractors for validation.  Resolves (creation/shutdown), organizes, and anime necessary project groups:

o   safety/security

o   techniques activities

o   HR

o   communication

o   services to the person

o   Others to define the steps of the project

Evaluates the proposals of the working groups and their impact on the project.  Inform the Steering Committee of the decisions taken during the project or go back to the Steering Committee proposals for draft decisions for groups.Guarantees documentation Archiving

Key Performance Indicators:

Establishing effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilized throughout project. Project planning, including producing the detailed project plan.  Solid knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management and value.  Managing the change control process.  Monitoring and advising upon project finances.  Managing the flow of project information between the team and the client, through regular meetings and written communications.  Preparing formal project progress and other reports.  Financial management – Ensuring prompt invoicing and monitoring of a project’s financial status.  Taking a leading role in interfacing with the group stakeholders and external consultants, at all project stages.  Process improvement – Identifying ways in which internal systems and processes can be improved and referring ideas to the appropriate line manager. Project is managed to the right quality standards and is completed efficiently, on time and to budget.  Project delivery meets the client’s objectives and is in line with the conditions of appointment.  Strong relationships are developed with the internal stakeholders and the members of the cross-functional team.  Key information and data is effectively cascaded and appropriately retained.
