Job Summary:

The Director Sales Operations leads skilled team that serves as primary conduit for CPD data dissemination across the organization and provides knowledgeable support to best leverage business tools. The incumbent works closely with Field Sales, internal Sales Administration, Business Planning, Brand Business Development, Commercial Finance, Customer Service and Information Technology teams to facilitate the efficient use of the CPD Trade Promotion Management System (CAS). Oversees the CPD Sales Account Forecasting and Planning process to best allow key stakeholders to draw comprehensive business conclusions as it relates to shipments, consumption, weeks of supply and return liabilities. The Director drives efficiency in recurring processes through system automation and enhancement recommendations as well as implementing harmonization across CPD divisions. Demonstrated aptitude to leverage data to aid key stakeholders in analyzing performance to optimize business effectiveness. Highly detailed oriented with ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and drive initiatives in a fast-paced, cross-functional setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; effectively interact at both a senior management and individual contributor level.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business
  • Minimum of six years of experience in a sales support role in Consumer Products
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience working in a data warehouse environment
  • Understanding the P&L
  • Strong computer skills, with emphasis in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Financial Scope:

Oversees the Field Sales forecasting and planning process for Consumer Products Division in TPM application (CAS).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • 1.  CPD “APEX” Trade Promotion Management System (CAS)
    • Participate in training, supporting and guiding the Field Sales community in effectively utilizing APEX
    • Champion data integrity and financial reliability by ensuring proper event set-up across business planning types
    • Take part in monitoring customer forecasts for consumption and shipments for base, display, new items and overall monthly phasing. The incumbent works with the internal Sales Administration, Commercial Finance, and IT teams to facilitate the efficient use of CAS.
    • Participate in BETA testing related to system integration of new business entities or data mapping that could potentially impact APEX

  • 2.  Account Forecasting Planning & Reporting
      • Oversee the maintenance and refinement of standardized sales reports to be used on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to enable key stakeholders to make informed business decisions
      • Provide ad hoc data reporting to address specific business questions
      • Maintain Ship Share reports to allow for more robust scenario planning in identifying potential shipment risks or opportunities
  • 3.  Budget & Trend Returns Liability
    • Oversee Sales Admin analysis, assessment and budget recommendations for Returns to offer visibility to potential liabilities impacting gross to net
    • Identify opportunities to create process efficiencies and ensure harmonized liability methodologies utilized across CPD
    • Develop weeks of supply inventory assessments for major relaunch initiatives to mitigate potential Return/Markdown liabilities while optimizing in-store transition
    • Oversee the development of Launch Sales Plans to identify potential sell-in risks or opportunities
    • Recommend enhancements to benefit the end-user experience
  • 4.  Focused Support Around Corporate Initiatives
    • Leverage keen analytical, system and tactical proficiency to support key divisional strategic opportunities and business priorities as well as ad hoc needs

        5.  Foster Employee Development
    • Motivate and mentor direct reports
    • Establish ongoing one-on-one status meetings to touch base on projects, discuss business priorities, offer feedback and serve as a resource
    • Organize team knowledge sharing training's and informational sessions
    • Perform employee evaluations
