More than 490 patents were registered in 2015. Our workforce consists of 3800 employees, representing about sixty nationalities and thirty different scientific backgrounds (chemistry, physics, biology, dermatology, optics, rheology, IT, statistics, analysis, etc.)

A stimulating environment where product performance is key to business success and feed back about products is constantly given in order to ensure the consumer remains central is all Innovations.


The biggest team, in terms of resources and test number, we work with both sensory panellists and sensory experts. In all cases we use human senses to determine whether an Innovation fits with the original intent and how it interacts with the market environment.

Present in 8 different locations around the world we perform 17 000 test per year, with the purpose of translating product characteristics into Innovation opportunities. Strong of 500 panellists around the world and approximately 80 professional experts to assess products for all L’Oréal categories, we run the sensory capability as a united and interactive team with mutualised resources.

 The International team, based on France has the double role of ensuring the science is consistently applied across the world and progressing the methods we use according to evolving ways of working to fit business needs. Its members work with and through the Operational teams across the world. We also work in collaboration with all the sciences to deliver the most relevant insights and translate them into Innovations.


  • Lead and promote the use of expertise, while accelerating harmonization of methods, capitalization of knowledge and methodological innovation, following R&I changes in ways of working:

  • Facilitate, coordinate and oversee management of cross-functional projects within Evaluation and R&I

  • Manage sensory science projects such as harmonization of methods, upgrade or development of best practices,

  • Manage key studies in liaison with operational teams and laboratories, from planning through to business value

  • Innovate by developing new approaches to a problem to meet requests, while anticipating future needs;

  • Participate in the development of expertise and its transmission, through training and has an advisory role;

  • Ensure monitoring of his/her field of activity, including the network of partners and service providers, and turn information into avenues to generate advances in the field of expertise that will be adopted by all;



  • You are proficient in Sensory evaluation, know the art of interrogating data, experienced International project management and are willing to bring value to the business. Are collaborative, solution driven and open minded, like the challenge of improving constantly the way we work, are agile and thrive on changes.

  • You have a Sensory science degree or equivalent experience; at least 5 years of successful experience in Sensory Evaluations including panel management or even experience in several type of evaluation eg Sensory & Consumer or Instrumental or Clinical tests. You speak and write fluent English.

  • Speaking and writing French will be a plus as well as having worked in a service provider.
