Colour Product Manager – Matrix

The Professional Products Division is universally known for exclusively supplying salons and other professional customers with the most advanced technologies in hair, skin and beauty products. The 8 brands within this division are L’Oréal Professionnel, Kerastase & Shu Uemura Art of Hair, Redken & Pureology, Matrix & Biolage and Pulp Riot. What are key highlights of this role?

You will be responsible for the continuous development of the Matrix Colour brands, worth 80% of overall Matrix Business. In over 7,000 salons nationwide, Matrix is one of the most widely distributed colour brands in the industry. In this strategic role, you will be driving the reach and growth of the Matrix colour portfolio, working closely with our Distributor Partners to retain, grow and recruit more salons & freelancers to the Matrix UKI brand and community. You will create and roll-out successful outreach campaigns driven by business insights, industry trends, product expertise, digital-first content and creative go-to-market tactics to engage with Matrix users and drive sales. As the colour expert, you will manage the full portfolio of colour brands, driving cross-sell and up-sell strategies alongside launches built on a deep understanding of product performance, colour services and customer needs. You will be at the forefront of consumer and industry trends, and use this knowledge to provide Salons & Freelancers with engaging content, tools and visual merchandising expertise that will help grow their colour services. You will work hand in hand with the wider Marketing team – including Trade Marketing, Digital & Comms/PR to develop 360 marketing plans. You will also work closely with the Commercial teams to design profitable and commercially-sound strategies that generate revenue and meet our over-arching business targets. You will work in tandem with the Education teams to design tools, content and support that ensure the continued and successful usage of your product portfolio by salons and freelancers across the country.  

·         Full ownership of the 360 marketing campaigns, owning development & execution of all marketing assets across our key touchpoints: Salon, Store, & Online/Social

·         Working with wider Brand, Commercial & Education teams to create and implement innovative and effective strategies to aid with new salon conquest, but also cater to the growing freelancer market who rely on Stores and increasingly, Ecommerce channels.

·         Analyse and identify key opportunities to grow In Salon Market Share. Work with Wider Marketing, Commercial & Education Teams to propose and execute effective ways of incrementally growing business within existing salons. Using key data points to identify trends and opportunities and create a 360 plan to successfully land your objectives.

  • ensure all activities drive the brand and colour strategy, evaluate the success of activities against pre-aligned KPIs and outline new plans to meet the colour brand targets. Be agile, and update actions based on results to ensure we reach our targets.

Preferred qualifications/experience:

    • – confident & competent at pulling data (Excel, Boost etc)
    • – passion for the industry/market and the brand with a sensitivity to end consumers
    • – Understand, shape & drive strategy: influence and align to the business/brand strategy, ensure all activities drive the strategy, measure results from activities against measurable objectives, adapt actions based on results to ensure we reach our targets
    • – understand the changing marketing landscape from digital, social and point-of-sale behaviours, use this knowledge to create innovative campaign concepts
    • : Importance of knowledge & curiosity in social media and digital behaviours
    • – owns their own campaign from start to finish
    • – ability to pitch & inspire stakeholders
    • – successfully manages & prioritizes long-term strategic projects with short-term tactical execution
