Retail Property, Facilities & EHS Manager

The primary purpose of this position is for a tenacious Property, Facilities & EHS manager to support the business to oversee the Retail Real Estate portfolio, meet regulatory health and safety requirements, and deliver efficient resolutions across all areas of facilities & maintenance for our Retail free standing store estate.

Reporting directly into the Chief Retail Officer for UK & Ireland, and dotted line reporting into the Director of Health, Safety, Environment, Property & Security, the role should strive to build and maintain a cost effective business model across all areas of facilities & maintenance for boutiques, and provide the knowledge and expertise to drive a safe working environment for Retail Boutique Beauty Advisors for L’Oréal UK & Ireland.  In addition, the role should support the management of the Retail Real Estate portfolio, working directly with the Chief Retail Officer on all matters related to property for our Retail boutiques.

You will:


Oversee the Retail Boutique Real Estate portfolio for all brands
Act as key liaison between the L’Oréal business and external advisors  - lawyers, agency teams, retail property teams
Support process and communication within real estate movements – renewals, lease negotiations, closures, etc.
Liaise with Finance team in Wales to ensure complete management of property finances
Support communication to landlords where required in matters of EHS/Facilities & Maintenance
Establish monthly report for GM’s on Retail Estate portfolio and communication on changes, opportunities and risks
Create robust process for store openings, renewals, closures and relocations with all business units


Environmental Health & Safety

Manage vendor relationships with all EHS vendors, including alarms, redcare, keyholding and systems impacting store and personal safety
Ensure observance and application of EHS system and policy of L'OREAL for Retail
Drive compliance requirements within boutique safety systems and services
Ensure monitoring, communication and actions at a store level for any EHS Risk and FRA issues
Carry out EHS internal audits to support risk tiering structure for stores
Manage accidents, incidents & occupational safety needs for retail stores & UKI boutique retail store employees
Partner with brands to drive any corrective actions required for boutiques
Identify critical EHS policies & training to be delivered to Retail Boutique Beauty Advisors for L’Oréal UKI
Contribute to an exhaustive and accurate group EHS reporting
Maintain regular and transparent contacts with local authorities

Facilities & Maintenance

Manage all vendor relationships and provided services across facilities and maintenance within the Retail boutique estate for UK & Ireland, alongside brand partnership where required

Drive compliance with all vendors and L’Oréal brands against service level agreements for facilities & maintenance

Oversee all operational expenditures within Facilities, Maintenance & key vendors – identify opportunities, efficiencies & cost savings

Establish escalation processes for emergency maintenance requirements in partnership with brands & operations

Drive reactive maintenance process across boutiques

Drive to implement sustainability solutions in stores

Create training, policies & procedures and guidance for boutique stores to create efficiencies and processes across all facilities & maintenance remits

You Have:

Alongside experience in a similar role, you should ideally be confident in demonstrating:

Qualification in Chartered Surveying is desirable not essential

Previous experience in Retail & Operations

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products   

Customer centric approach

Excellent written and verbal communications

Strong stakeholder management skills

Awareness of retail environment
