Lead and coordinate the steering effort to implement sustainable processes that will lead the site to achieve excellence in Safety, Quality and Performance and to assess the strategic business needs of the organization, determines the Technical performance level required of individuals to support the business needs, assesses individual and organizational Technical performance gaps and develops interventions to address the gaps.

                          

General Job Duties

Responsibilities are not limited to the below listing.

  • Leads, facilitates and coordinates implementation of sustainable processes to achieve excellence in safety, quality and performance.
  • Ensures processes are implemented and penetrate the organization and its culture.
  • Drives implementation of new processes and ensures their sustainability at the cell level by being involved in the training of the cell managers and department heads, following up with assessment and tracking appropriate leading indicators.
  • Leads projects with the scope of work required to move the facility forward with TPM methodologies.
  • Maintains the Site CMMS system (including Troubleshooting, New Line Set Up and coordination with other Facilities) and develops training for employees on the use and functions of the system.
  • Maintains the Site SPI system (including Troubleshooting, New Line Set Up and coordination with other Facilities) and develops training for employees on the use and functions of the system.
  • Maintains the Site Informance system (including Troubleshooting, New Line Set Up and coordination with other Facilities) and develops training for employees on the use and functions of the system
  • Manages the onsite central store for the facility, which includes but not limited to any budgetary and/or performance issues.
  • Manage and direct the Technical training and development function.
  • Identify and assess individual and/or organizational Technical learning needs
  • Coordinate and schedule all internal and external Technical training
  • Find and select external sources for  Technical training
  • Utilize assessment tools (qualitative and quantitative) for all Technical training sessions and apply information to continuous improvement
  • Represent the plant during internal and external functions (i.e. audit, training sessions, business meetings);

  • Addresses and reduces the fear of change by implementing a coaching culture with all employees.

 Process

  • Ensures that all objectives are tracked through scorecareds posted by the work stations that define the team’s performance and used by the team on regular basis.
  • Creates appropriate leading indicators for the team understanding how they assess against the processes and how they can affect the results posted on the visual management boards.
  • Conducts regular audits and assessment on the processes implemented.

 

Educational, Mental, or Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience;
  • 5-8 years experience in manufacturing;
  • Exemplify leadership;
  • Expert in TPM/Lean Practices
  • Expert in Coaching
  • Strong PC Skills utilizing Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and related MS Office Software
  • Strong English oral and written communication skills, French a plus.

Environmental Factors

  • Production machinery may produce noise levels that exceed OSHA’s action level:  Employees are provided with and are required to wear personal hearing protection devices in these areas;
  • Employees are required to wear steel-toed shoes.
