Responsible for the overall management of capital projects, employee development and training programs, and process improvement projects.  Acts as the environmental officer for the facility including as the company’s representative to governmental agencies, consulting firms, and law firms.  Develops and implements training activities that exceed the environmental responsibilities of the facility and meet the requirements of applicable governmental agencies and L’Oreal USA internal standards for programs. In addition, the Distribution Center Project Manager is accountable for achieving company objectives and standards, maintaining budget objectives and overall responsibility of managing the Distribution Interns.


Section 3: Job Requirements (Minimum number of years of experience, skills, certification, and academic background required to perform this job):


A. Education:  Bachelor’s degree required preferably in an environmental field.


                                B. Experience:  Five to Seven years in an operations environment.  Strong Project Management Skills.  Excellent analytical Skills.  Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.


C. Knowledge/Skills: A comprehensive knowledge of operations is necessary.  A broad range of management skills is required with particular emphasis on leadership, project management, motivation, communication, and planning.


                                D. Special Requirements:  Experience in a global organization.  Obtain L’Oreal forklift trainer certification.

Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities


  • Develop and create training programs for all staff to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the facility
  • Direct and supervise efficient, cost effective projects
  • Act as the environmental officer for the facility including acting as the company’s representative to governmental agencies, consulting firms, law firms, etc.
  • Develop and implement training activities that  exceed the safety and environmental responsibilities of the facility and meet the requirements of applicable governmental agencies and L’Oreal USA internal standards for programs
  • Focus on continuous improvement and make recommendations to senior management on programs to improve operations
  • Monitor the space layout plan to ensure it continues to meet Company Standard
  • Perform special projects/tasks as assigned


  • Ensure that procedures are in place for the efficient operation and utilization of all warehouse equipment
  • Direct programs to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment and property
  • Provide safety instruction to personnel as needed
  • Report all work-related injuries immediately
  •  Provide immediate medical attention to injured employees as necessary
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate government regulations

 Relationships: Customers-

  • Continually maintain a professional and courteous relationship with all internal/external customers
  • Audit operation to ensure service standards are being met
  • Meet with customers to discuss performance against KPIs
  • Establish customer relations training programs for all front-line and office


Inventory Management-

  • Ensure current and accurate inventory control for all products

 Information Technology-

  • Ensure the creation of the necessary warehouse information systems to meet company objectives and facilitate the efficient operations of the warehouse
  • Ensure that necessary warehouse computer software and hardware are provided
  • Remain knowledgeable regarding changes in hardware and software technology


  • Ensure the security of the facility, its environment, employees and contents
  • Conduct regular instruction in good security practices
