Job Summary:

The Maintenance Mechanic II has the responsibility to maintain spare parts inventory, schedule and control PMs with internal mechanics and contractors, maintains a record of downtime, oversees building maintenance, analyzes equipment and makes recommendations for increased safety and productivity.  The Maintenance Mechanic II will also prioritize facility workload and communicate with stakeholders regularly on the status of their projects. The areas of responsibility include but are not limited to; the conveyor sortation system, the loose pick system, regular facility equipment including but not limited to phone, bathrooms, utilities, other assorted equipment and all office areas.

Job Duties:

  • Oversees building maintenance while scheduling, implementing, and expediting repairs, renovations of electrical, plumbing, building, telephone, fire prevention, conveyor and computer systems for Distribution Center, schedule and controls PMs with internal mechanics and contractors, maintains spare parts inventory & record of downtime
  •  Completes safety validations
  •  Analyzes equipment and makes recommendations for increased safety and productivity
  •  Aid in emergency preparedness as it relates to weather and safety
  •  Quality - Ensure standards are met and report quality variances
  •  Works with outside vendors to select the most efficient equipment and supplies that will provide excellent service to the facility
  •  Setting up conference rooms
  • Assists with special projects as required.

Job requirements:


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years experience in a maintenance/ facilities/ mechanical role


  • Previous experience as a work site leader or foreman required
  • Experience in a commercial and industrial environment, including battery charging, forklifts, electrical panels and lighting
  • Experience with conveyor systems, PLC’s, motor controls, pneumatic devices and hydraulic equipment is a plus


  • Individual must understand the general operation and function of a major Distribution Center
  • Electrical and conveyor knowledge
  • General knowledge of pertinent OSHA rules and regulations
  • General knowledge of plumbing, painting and carpentry are essential
  • General knowledge of alarm systems, locks and door hardware
  • PC knowledge including Word, Excel, & Outlook

 Physical Requirements:

  • Able to bend, twist and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Stand for 8 – 10 hours a day

Special Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to work overtime, as needed including weekends
  • Must be available on an after hour on-call basis.
  • Must be able to work from ladders and from heights
  • Excellent organizational skills with both paperwork and the inventory of parts and equipment
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects and prioritize daily workloads
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to interact with office personnel and all levels of management
  • Will need to obtain L’Oreal forklift certification

Judgement & Decision Making:

  • Supervision will be minimal
  • Good judgement is necessary, as independent decision-making will be an essential part of this role.
