Preferred Work Experience / Background

The Manager Trade Promotion Analysis should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Consumer Products Industry, which should include experience in a few of the following departments: trade promotion, sales, marketing, trade marketing, category management and/or finance. The Manager should have outstanding analytical skills, high intellectual curiosity, and synthesize complex data sets. Ideal candidate has experience in sales, finance, marketing, and/or forecasting.  This individual should have experience in managing and owning small to large projects, with proven ability to communicate across multiple levels of management while also partnering with cross functional teams.  

Preferred Education / Skills / Certifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, MBA a plus

Minimum of five years’ experience in CPG

Experience in syndicated data software and proprietary systems for either AC Nielsen or IRI

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Experience working in Trade Promotion Management System is a plus

Proficient in MS PowerPoint and Excel; MS Access experience a plus

Experience working in analytical tools, Spotfire, and tableau

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct post promotion analytics to evaluate efficiency and effectiveness of Trade Promotions. Provide recommendations on new/alternative strategies based on analytics
  • Present findings, risks, and opportunities to ALL levels of Sales and Finance
  • Ensure promotional events are properly entered in Trade Management System
  • Own and manage the Post Event Analysis team’s cube (manage, test, and communicate changes to IT and team)
  • Develop management reporting and commentary on retail sales growth, competition, and market share
  • Facilitate communication across key touch-points to ensure promotions are executed effectively, efficiently and according to plan
  • Own, create, and manage the PEA team’s dashboard (manage, test, communicate, and train team members and business partners)
  • Serve as the PEA expert for Categories assigned, and work closing with business partners (i.e. NSM’s and Finance) to understand overall risks and opportunities
  • Develop tools/templates to facilitate planning/discussion between sales/marketing during strategic planning sessions
  • Leverage industry and retailer specific insights to inform and guide trade marketing initiatives and brand strategies
  • Serve as back-fill for the Director – PEA, in times of need
  • Ad-hoc projects per business requirements
