Primary Responsibilities

  • Builds strong partnership with Regional Managers to ensure the people plan supports the delivery of the business objectives.  Provides one-on-one coaching to DSMs and Store Managers to deliver the business plan, as well as one-on-one coaching for DSMs to continually improve leadership skills through personal development plans.  Responsible for ensuring succession planning is part of the field day to day business thought process for building of bench strength.  Assists and follows up to ensure talent planning outcomes are executed effectively.
  • Provide advisory services to Regional Managers, District Sales Managers, Store Management and staff pertaining to any employee relation issues or concerns.  Assist field management in the delivery of progressive and constructive discipline and performance development plans. Partners with Field Management and Loss Prevention on any LP issues.

  • Conducts frequent shop visits with Regional Managers and District Managers to provide support and ensure consistency in adherence to HR practices and standards of performance.

  • Acts as a regional resource for special projects and HR programs, such as Benefit enrollment, performance appraisals, recruitment, and employee recognition programs and related training.

  • Assists in the investigations of charges of alleged discrimination or any other employee complaints/concerns filed internally or with various federal, state and local government agencies.  Will assist with civil summons/lawsuits as necessary.

  • Ensures that the New Hire Induction program is being implemented and training programs are being followed. Conducts training of HR-related subject matters to field operations staff on an as needed basis. Follows up on individual training matters.
  • Conducts exit interviews of shop management staff to assist in identifying business or management patterns to be raised and actioned in order to prevent future turnover of talent.  Review, analyze and educated field management on turnover and stability data findings partnering with filed management on steps to stabilize the turn increase overall productivity.

  • Ensures regional compliance in regards to H&S, Worker’s Compensation, Unemployment claims and policy administration.

Other Responsibilities

 

  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

 

  • Responsible for maintaining the ethical standards of The Body Shop including minimizing the environmental, health and safety risks in the workplace.  Report potential risks, near misses and real accidents to relevant managers.

 

     

 

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES – (Job Qualifications/Experience) – List minimum education, skills and years of job-related experience necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.

  • 3-5 years HR experience (Home Office BP position) and Retail Management experience (Retail BP position)with business related degree
  • Bi-Lingual Spanish preferred for Home Office/Distribution Center position
  • Project Management Experience, a plus
  • Knowledge of Federal and State Laws and regulations
  • Sound Commercial Retail Knowledge required (multi site, multi state Environment preferred)

  • 50% Travel required. Must be based in the Greater NYC area.
