Manager (Social, PR, Print Media):

Job Responsibilities

  • Social:
    • Manages all Matrix Channels (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, FacebookLive, Pinterest, YouTube, Snapchat, Instastories)
    • Building Competitive Strategies to ensure reach and engagement continue to grow
    • Training Artist Network on social media platforms, brand strategies and Artist social DNA
    • Help ideate social narratives for each channel and platform, per launch (Haircare, Color, all other initiatives)
    • Ongoing artist network communication and guidance
    • Collaborate with Marketing and Creative Designers to develop assets that reflect rich story telling of brand’s essence
    • Oversee and review social media reporting – monthly and ongoing to measure social ROI via Tribe, Traackr and Netbase
    • Partner with Field and Education on their Strategic Initiatives 
    • Work with Distributors to ensure they highlight our messaging
    • Oversee content for Social Content Factory
    • Managing outside vendor relationships
    • Align with DMI on all communication and launches
    • Work with CMI and CMO teams to keep abreast of trends and new reporting, emerging platforms, analytics
    • Attend and participate in Social Squad meetings for competitive insights
    • Work with CRM team on product sales and marketing promotions with partners
    • Create Social Media plans for Trade Shows
    • Review all social collateral for proper branded callouts from all teams (Marketing, Sales, Strategic Initiatives, Education)
    • Meet with social partners such as Facebook and YouTube and other platforms like Tumblr
    • PAID Media: Boosted Post Strategy for all channels

 

  • PR: Trade
    • Manage proactive and reactive relations
    • Build pitches in support of all brand initiatives and launches (Marketing, Strategic Initiatives, Education, Digital, Shows/Events, Artist Collections and Support)
    • Review outgoing communication to trade partners from PR Coordinator which includes monthly blog (American Salon) and monthly columns (Launchpad’s Spanish language column and Modern Salon)
    • Lead trade event production and elements (Destination 2016 itineraries, agendas, etc)
    • Maintain consistent, daily communication with Artists network
    • Manage monthly editorial calendars and deadlines for optimal coverage
    • Manage trade Sponsorships: Modern Salon Color PROCESS, NAHA,  City of Hope, BTC Stylist Choice Awards, Bionic Sponsorship, ABS, Premiere, etc
    • Lead on PPD shared partnerships
    • Lead on Photo Shoots for Trade book covers with Artistic Directors
    • Lead on Trade Show and Strategic Initiative Events:  Imagination, Destination, etc
    • Work closely with Education on proper messaging and managing media requests
    • Work closely with Marketing (US and DMI) on initiatives for cohesive messaging and timing

 

  • PR Consumer:
    • Manage media Trackers with agency
    • Collaborate with Matrix PR Director and agency on strategic planning and pitching
    • Oversee product delivery to media
    • Oversee monthly clip organization and Cision submissions for monthly reporting
    • Manage monthly reporting
    • Manage drafting event/appointment assets (evites, event collateral, signage, etc)
    • Event on-site trouble-shooting and management

 

  • Print Media
    • Opening Briefs for all brand initiatives
    • Manage routing process to meet internal and external publisher deadlines (All trade books and JCP)
    • Manage monthly individual deadline for up to 10 trade partners (BSG, JCP, etc)
    • Review collateral for social and digital callouts

 

  • Admin duties:
    • Support Director of PR, Social, Influencer and Print Media 
    • Work closely with internal Digital counterparts and brand team members
    • Help guide Consumer PR agency on opportunities
    • Oversee/Manage Assistant Manager of Social and PR Coordinator

 

Job Requirements

  • Three plus years of experience in Public Relations; beauty experience preferred
  • Bachelors' degree required
  • Advanced PC skills (MS Word, Microsoft Outlook Calendar & E-Mail, Excel, Power Point, internet)
  • Excellent organizational skills with avid attention to detail and follow through.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
