As a Physical Distribution Project Manager, you will be responsible for spearheading key transformational logistics initiatives, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of innovation within our distribution environment for Australia & New Zealand based out of our Distribution Centre in Dandenong, Melbourne. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong operational background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for maintaining high standards of performance management, project delivery and safety. 

 

ABOUT THE JOB 

Lead and Collaborate:

  • Spearhead and manage local and regional Supply Chain projects, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams across various departments.
  • Effectively run & deliver multiple projects within the Supply Chain domain, ensuring timely completion and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Ready the organisation to be Future FIT by executing strategic operations roadmap.

Project Leadership & Communication:

  • Champion project initiatives, outlining clear goals, objectives, and anticipated outcomes to key stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicate project progress, successes, and challenges to relevant parties & liaise with local & global partners.

Develop & Deploy:

  • Contribute to the design, development, and deployment of change management and technologies that optimize supply chain operations.
  • Develop robust processes and user-friendly SOPs aligned with the strategic objectives of the overall business strategy.
  • Partner with internal & external stakeholders to adapt and implement innovative development processes to drive go to market & bring cost effectiveness.

Drive Innovation & Performance:

  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement by introducing new ways of working and developing Smart Automation to elevate team performance and efficiency.
  • Train and guide team members on the effective utilization of new methods and processes on service, cost, safety & sustainability.

Analyse & Improve:

  • Consolidate, analyse, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to activity, quality, and overall performance within the department.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, develop data-driven solutions, and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Governance & Compliance:

  • Collaborate closely with the transversal teams to ensure all governance policies and compliance standards are met.

ABOUT YOU 

  • Proven experience (minimum 10 years) in a similar Continuous Improvement role within a distribution centre or warehousing environment.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management principles, best practices, and methodologies.
  • Experience in project management, including leading cross-functional teams and managing complex initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and the implementation of safety protocols.
