Strategic Buyer

To take overall accountability for the sourcing, procurement of all components to efficiently and timeously support production and overall purchasing strategy at optimal costs to meet business requirements.

Duties:

  • To purchase components, raw materials & other goods and services for the factory.

  • Facilitation in both negotiating and concluding supply contracts for the manufacture and / or supply of all components

  • Managing supplier performance and driving continual improvement on an ongoing basis

  • Assistance in benchmarking key suppliers for components

  • Supporting value analysis on a continual basis, with the purpose of reducing cost and / or adding value

  • Facilitation in establishing annual budgets and strategic plans for components

  • Analyses business needs and challenges demand: collect, understand and challenge stakeholders’ needs and promote demand management. Apply VA methodology and Guarantee the expected functionality level at the optimized costs

  • Defines purchasing strategy: organize and gather market knowledge, propose advanced action plans to benefit from market opportunities

  • Optimizes costs: Improve the cost model through a good knowledge of supplier process, Identify opportunities leveraging value chain approach. Lead and implement productivity projects, apply and Use TCO.

  • Maximizes Supplier Relationship: define and implement supplier portfolio, monitor the performance and analyze P&Ls, make clear feedbacks and follow action plans.

  • Creates value and innovates: lead complex projects (Reformulation, W2W, Full buy, innovation, R2P, Indirect…). Develop and recommend best options to secure identified project risks.

  • Implement standard contract framework enhancing on key legal principles, propose improvements and deals with the legal department. Monitor the contract compliance

  • Manage Performance and efficiency: Build cost forecasts for a simple category, share and control assumptions for budget construction.

  • Manage KPIs, build continuous improvement strategy for financial and non-financial KPIs.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years in similar position within the FMCG industry

  • Matric and a relevant business Diploma/Degree

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent negotiation skills

  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems

  • Analytical skills

  • Capacity to monitor a project independently

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel.

  • Experience in using other Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills.

  • Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding and cost breakdown
