Designed as a startup within L’Oréal, the Incubator team is an assemblage of entrepreneurial scientists and engineers organized worldwide in California, NY/NJ, France and Japan.

Job Summary:

We are seeking Machine Learning Scientists to join our expanding Silicon Valley team.   You’ll develop and implement machine learning models to provide automation of clinical tasks (i.e. image classification) for telemedicine. You’ll apply statistical analysis, modeling, and predictive analytics to biological data to enable the discovery of new insights and opportunities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and build new platforms for creating and (meta-) analyzing biological datasets. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • PhD (up to 3 years’ experience), MS (up to 5 years’ experience) or BS (up to 8 years’ experience) in computer science, bioinformatics, statistics, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of predictive analytics & machine learning.
  • Experience with image analysis leveraging deep learning methodologies.
  • Familiarity with modern ML and Deep Learning frameworks (at least one, the more the better): Caffe, TensorFlow, Torch, scikit.
  • Familiarity with Apache Spark and Apache Hadoop, or other parallel programming frameworks.
  • Strong working knowledge of statistics.
  • Experience working with large structured and unstructured data.
  • Strong coding experience (i.e. Python, R).
  • Experience with biological data sets (genomic, transcriptomic, microbiome, etc.)
Other qualities:
  • Excellent written communication, verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and execute on projects with minimal guidance.
