 Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the management of the Advertising & Promotion (A&P) expenditures of both Matrix and L’Oreal Professionnel, with exposure to other areas of the P&L. A key portion of the role involves preparing various financial schedules for Actuals, Budgets and Trends to support the brand controller. In doing so, the Sr. Analyst will work across various financial systems (Compass, Passport and SAP). In addition, he/she will interface directly with the head marketing and education to clearly articulate results and build Budgets/Trends. Base responsibilities include execution and ownership of the monthly close process including A&P management/reporting, identifying risks and opportunities across the P&L while building Budgets and Trends in Compass, collaborating closely with all key finance players, in order to understand the holistic view of the total brand A&P. This role also involves presenting to brand leadership and Division Presidents during Budgets/Trends. He/she will also be responsible for providing adhoc analysis and financial modeling to drive key decision making to help support the future growth of the brand, which includes ROI analysis, business driver optimization and benchmarking to other brands, among others.

Job Description:

  • Own the monthly close and actual reporting process through the utilization of core financial platforms (Compass & SAP)
  • Build Budgets and Trends through collaboration with marketing/ICC leadership team and brand controller
  • Analyze monthly business results vs plan and develop robust commentary on variances
  • Present monthly A&P reporting to brand leadership, while identifying and making recommendations for areas of improvement within A&P
  • Collaborate with G2N, Development, Digital and SalonCentric A&P controllers in order to understand all areas impacting the brand A&P
  • Work on special projects to increase the efficiency of business driver investments
  • Provide detailed analysis and financial modeling to support brand leadership in decision making around A&P spend and maximize brand awareness of sales growth

Job Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in finance or accounting
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, multi-tasking and communication skills
  • Strong business partnering skills
  • Must demonstrate a strong attention to detail and organization skills to manage heavy peaks of workload (i.e. month end, trends)
  • Must have the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-pace work environment
  • Must be able to travel to the New York office periodically (20%-30% of the time)
