Job Title: Transportation Analyst/Sr. Analyst

Job Overview:
As a core member of the Transportation team, you will be expected to lead the reporting and analytics function while developing super-user level expertise in TMS, SpotFire, SAP, etc.  You will also be required to assist manager with developing and analyzing various scenarios by modeling shipment level information and recommending ways of improving transportation service as well as cost. Job Scope:
You will report to the Manager of Transportation Analytics. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining and distributing KPI, scorecards and dashboards on a routine basis. Additionally, you will have to develop expertise in various systems used by the transportation department and will need to assist with resolving TMS issues.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Utilizes quantitative skills to create and analyze reports to support business execution.
  • Supports the business through ad-hoc queries, and maintains reports from a variety of resources specific to department or organizational needs
  • Develops business tools and solutions to support the department
  • Identifies Logistics process improvement opportunities through strategic thinking, critical thinking and analysis
  • Provides recommendations to senior management
  • Performs data management through a combination of data mining, data modeling, data analysis, cost/benefit analysis, process mapping, and/or problem analysis; while executing day to day processes related to area of responsibility.
  • Develops and maintains cost estimates, forecasts, and cost models.
  • Manages carrier partner relationships
  • Develop ‘superuser’ level expertise in various systems used to support Transportation: TMS, SpotFire, SAP etc.
  • Create, maintain and distribute KPIs, scorecards, dashboards on a fixed schedule i.e. daily, weekly, monthly
  • Assist with budgeting and trending process
  • Work with planning team and TMS vendor to ensure TMS functioning at optimal level
  • Maintain TMS Routing Guide
  • Able to work in a fast pace environment and shift priorities accordingly

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply chain or Business Administration

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in Transportation Operations and Analysis

  • Strong interpersonal skills ability to collaborate across functions

  • Superior analytical skills and ability to manage large quantities of data and drive innovation through analytics

  • Advanced expertise in Excel, Access, TMS, SAP

  • Preferred expertise in data visualization systems such as SpotFire and PowerBI

  • Must be willing to work a 2nd shift (2-10pm) once a week or support as required.  This 2nd shift can be done remotely
