Purpose of role:

Responsible for maintaining all content for the US website for accuracy of promotions, merchandising, and marketing. Catalogue all product data and promotional assets using Publishing and Content Management tools, and assist in checking and testing all content.

Work closely with the Production Manager to execute deployment calendar for daily updates to site content, promotions, and merchandising.  Assist in all event launches and ensure all deliverables are met on time. Work closely with IT for all site and tool issues. Juggle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and fully understand prioritization. Enhance user experience through segmentation management, product recommendations, and promotion rendering.

Role Definitions

Key Job Accountabilities:


  • Organize and execute e-commerce site deployments. Compile and deploy all content, assets, and products for every publishing event using the Publishing and Content Management tools.


  • Program promotional functionality using Content Management tool.


  • Execute daily maintenance and uploads to site requested by merchandising, marketing, and production. Maintain product database, create new product entries, price changes.


  • Check content for errors (proofreading, testing and maintaining accuracy of web content) on Pre-Production and Live environments. Maintain and fix all errors on both environments, ensuring accuracy. Check all images, copy, promotions, and functionality.




  • Aid Production Manager in ensuring consistent editorial and creative voice of The Body Shop online. Contribute ideas to The Body Shop’s e-commerce growth. Provide solutions to new customer facing, promotional functionality.


  • Interact with multiple team members and departments to confirm content and ensure content is published on schedule:
  • BSI for Product imagery and copy
  • Merchandising and Commercial Team for promotional pricing and new products
  • Online Marketing to coordinate promotions and copy
  • Production team for creative assets


  • Liaise with IT team for all publishing support issues that may arise and site issues.
  • Provide other monthly site updates: Upload store location information, new hire profiles. Establish open communication for reporting and correcting site issues immediately.







































Other Responsibilities


  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.


  • Responsible for maintaining the ethical standards of The Body Shop including minimizing the environmental, health and safety risks in the workplace.  Report potential risks, near misses and real accidents to relevant managers.









  • 4+ year’s previous experience in Producer roles for consumer Internet companies, preferably
  • Multi-tasking ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritization
  • Strong technical understanding of Internet technologies and the operations of a commercial Web site.
  • Knowledge of HTML.
  • Experience working with Content Management Systems





  • Undergraduate degree preferred.
  • Technical understanding of internet technologies, staging environment, and the operations of a commercial Web site.
  • Experience with web site maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Understand sense of urgency & prioritization.
  • Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, and Content Management Tools).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Passion for retail and/or the cosmetics/beauty industry.
