DC BUSINESS ASSISTANT
TRAFFORD DISTRIBUTION CENTRE (M17)
We are recruiting for a DC Site Business Assistant to work with the Operations team based at our Trafford Distribution Centre. This role provides essential administrative and operational support to both the Trafford Park Management team but also the UKI Physical Distribution Management team and the wider on-site operations, ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day activities. The Business Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks, from co-ordinating a clear and controlled entry to site for all that enter, to ensuring all that work here feel informed and involved in on site activities.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating a positive and engaging workplace. Be highly organised, proactive and possess exceptional communication skills. You should be willing to develop and learn and be comfortable with autonomy and be able to work in a fast pace environment.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
Welcome & Support: You will ensure a warm and welcoming experience for any visitors and contractors to site. You'll manage incoming communications to site, handle correspondence, and coordinate with courier services into reception. Throughout the day, you'll provide crucial administrative assistance to the team, from ordering supplies to managing meeting room bookings, related catering requirements and organising PPE for warehouse tours.
Internal Communications Guru: You'll take charge of the on-site digital screens, curating engaging content and keeping information up-to-date and relevant. You will also be the owner of the content shared on Comm-zone, our warehouse employee communication hub. Keeping it live and fresh and ensuring this platform becomes a history of achievements and good news stories across all our DC sites. Your creativity and eye for detail will shine as you assist with the creation and distribution of internal communications. You will be responsible for site based newsletters ensuring employees are well-informed and connected, with all that is going on at the DC in Trafford Park, and will support the UKI Physical Distribution Management team to animate the strategic road map across the DC network in the UK . You will become the link between on-site communities such as charity committee, mental health ambassadors, DEI groups – shaping an aligned narrative that ensures the purpose of each one and them as a whole is clear for all.
Employee Experience Champion: From big birthday celebrations, long service awards and gifts, to team-building activities and seasonal celebrations and events, you'll play a key role in planning and executing memorable employee events in line with budgets provided. You'll coordinate catering for meetings and events, guaranteeing a seamless and enjoyable experience for all. You'll also manage the uniform ordering process, making sure on-site visitors and/or employees have the attire they need, when they need it. Don't forget to capture and share photo moments of life at Trafford DC, fostering a sense of community and pride!
