Basic function
The PPD State RDA Business Development Manager is a Field-based position supporting 2 State/RDA Territory Development Managers in the Street, Store and Franchise, to achieve PPD territory sales and KPI goals. The PPD Business Development Manager will work closely with the respective State RDA Territory Development Managers to develop and deploy key strategies and resources that support the success of the State RDA District Sales Consultants and State RDA and Franchise Owners, enabling them to deliver/exceed all prioritized sales/business objectives through new partnerships and increases in salon market share. The PPD Business Development Manager will serve as a secondary support to the State RDA Territory Development Manager to close new partnerships and gain in salon market share. They will help to build dynamic opportunities, drive Beauty Tech, business tools and function as the liaison between the TDM, and Brand Education. The PPD BDM will support State RDA and Franchise Stores to ensure they have the resources necessary to successfully promote and sell our PPD Brands. PPD BDM will support and promote all educational activities. They will be the conduit for feedback from the Field to our Brand Operations and Brand Activation teams.

- PPD Brands include REDKEN, L’Oreal Professionnel, Matrix, Biolage, Pureology, Mizani and Pulp Riot.
Responsibilities:
- Support State RDA in new partnerships and ISMS’s
- Engage with salon prospects at the request of TDM's to instill the L’Oreal value proposition and support in laddering PPD Brands to gain ISMS, identify salon portfolio gaps and develop growth strategies.
- Identify new partnership targets for the TDM’s to utilize Brand, PPD and Summit tools (Salon Emotion, Access, Level, Hair.com etc.) to demonstrate the value and support provided to our salon partners.
- Educate TDM's and Salons on Brand Activation tools and resources.
- Work with brand education partners to schedule demos to secure new business and ISMS opportunities.
- Create and implement territory growth strategies by aligning with Brand Big bets and educational focuses.
- By request, support “at risk” customers to prevent loss to competition.
- Plan and conduct strategic, purposeful store market visits.
- Develop Store teams on Brands, merchandising, business acumen, initiatives and launches.
- Provide monthly store visual merchandising support and feedback to Brand Operations.
- Identify opportunities within territory for in-store events and training, provide support for successful execution.
- Actively solicit feedback from stylists and stores. Provide feedback to the Brand Operation Team on promotions, launches, marketing and in-store placement.
- New Store Opening & Remodel support within territory.
- Support PPD School Team
- Support the development and execution of all Summit Business events for existing and new customers.
- Support State RDA sales meetings and omni-comm.
- Support and promote all educational offerings available to salons: Events, Programs, Store Classes, In-Salon Classes, etc.
- Serve as the voice of the Brands with State RDA Field Team members across all channels.
- Provide weekly business status updates and market insights to Vice President of PPD Business Development
- Salesforce management
- Execute Quarterly Strategy sessions
- Manage territory fuel budget.

Experience: - 5-10 yrs. proven sales experience with emphasis on consultative selling
- Summit Business program expertise
- Effective development of Business Proposals
- Experience with a distributor-based organization and structure.
- Demonstrated track record of exceptional problem-solving skills in a selling environment.
- Proven ability to manage a large geographic area.
- Advanced presentation and communication skills
- Proficient computer skills necessary (Microsoft Office, Power BI, Sales Force)
- Ability to travel extensively (~3 out of 4 weeks) and work weekends as needed.
Education: - An undergraduate degree or commensurate professional experience is required.
