Summary


The Consultant, IT Communications – Americas will partner on the deployment of effective communication strategies and tactics to inform and engage employees working for Information Technology at L’Oréal Americas, as well as, partner with Corporate Communications on key opportunities to storytell to broader audience groups – internally and externally. The ideal candidate is an innovative and entrepreneurial self-starter with exceptional writing skills, strong detail orientation, and the proven ability to manage a multitude of priorities, and deadlines. This role requires building relationships throughout the Group and collaboration cross-functionally with a variety of internal stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:

 

Employee Messaging


·        Centralize internal messaging targeting the IT Americas audience to build consistency on tone, frequency and visual voice – act as the employee publicist

·        Improve audience focused communication, tailoring messaging to drive impact

·        Partner with Corporate Communications to storytell to broader employee groups and external stakeholders

·        Disseminate IT Americas executive recaps to key leadership stakeholders 

  • Serve as internal copywriter, acting as a resource across functions to advise and align communication planning
  • Monitor department mailbox traffic, building the identity of the IT team through timely and well-manicured responses to incoming messaging 
  • Oversee the maintenance and evolution of internal reference tools including, but not limited to: distribution lists, communications matrix

 

Strategy


·        Partner on the ideation of internal communications programs and events, incorporating business objectives and initiatives tied to the Americas vision

·        Support the implementation of global driven initiatives, strategically tailored to drive a high level of adoption for the IT Americas’ audience

·        Collaborate closely with the Global IT Communications team to align strategy, provide zone updates and support two-way feed of information 

·        Build relationships with communications partners in the organization, as well as, key stakeholders, to influence alignment and seek opportunities to leverage ideas across teams

·        Manage priorities + deadlines with resources


Knowledge and Skills


·        Self-motivated, with an appetite for working entrepreneurially and a track record as a self-starter

·        Strong project management skills, and the ability to execute programs and events with speed, accuracy and efficiency

  • Must be adaptable to changing business conditions

·        Outstanding influencing and interpersonal skills and a track record of working effectively and forming peer-level relationships with senior members of an organization

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as, strong listening skills

·        Proficient in Microsoft Office with a basic understanding of Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud

·        Flexibility to travel, attend events as required and to work, if needed, outside of standard office hours


Education and Experience


·        Three to five + years working in a high paced environment

·        Bachelor’s degree required, preferred in Communications, Journalism or Public Relations

·        Experience working in a role relative to internal or corporate communications required
