Digital Analyst

The team

The CMO team supports 30+ brands across 4 divisions in the UK and Ireland, and is responsible for driving excellence across marketing media, data and insight within L’Oreal UKI. In 2018 the team is tasked with delivering eCommerce growth, increasing our active customer base and delivering best in class content to our millions of consumers.

The role

The Digital Analyst role reports directly to the Head of Data and Analytics within the CMO team for L’Oreal UKI. Supporting the Marketing and Commercial brand teams, the Digital Analyst will use a variety of tools and data sets to deliver analysis and insight that improves L’Oréal’s eCommerce objectives, enrich a customers’ journey through enhanced channel and website performance, and shapes our digital data transformation by being a knowledge expert across new technologies.

The Digital Analyst will have a passion for data and an enthusiasm for problem solving. They will be comfortable working with large data sets to identify actionable insight and have the technical skills required to manage various data sources simultaneously. They will have experience of setting strategic objectives in order to deliver digital best practice, specifically within an eCommerce environment. They will have an appreciation of tag management tools and understand how to measure and optimise a customer’s digital journey. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead e-commerce analytics and insights throughout all divisions 

  • Manage e-retail tool Clavis centrally and ensure divisional implementation

  • Utilize all available data sources to develop comprehensive performance insights

  • Proactively identify projects and initiatives to improve performance on our retailer websites

  • Lead the development and enhancement of regular reporting capabilities through the creation, maintenance and automation of dashboards with objective to report and explain digital channels performance

  • Combine web analytics, search marketing, and customer experience metrics to present a transparent overall picture and measure success of changes to our sites and communications

  • Interact closely with the digital teams and other analysts in the wider company and present findings, recommendations and best practises

  • Support CMO digital transformation vision with analysis and insights to drive continual improvement across digital channels

  • Provide ad-hoc training on reporting and web analytics tools across divisions to drive usage and help grow user competency across all divisions

  • Develop and evolve digital channels KPIs and measurement frameworks to align all divisions

Essential Skills:

  • 3yrs+ relevant digital analytics and ecommerce experience

  • Excellent understanding of data mining platforms such as SQL, Python or R

  • Experience designing dashboards that provide insight to senior business stakeholders

  • Experience upskilling stakeholders in new tools and technologies

  • Able to work with large sets and volumes of data, strong problem solving skills, high level of maths ability and advanced Excel skills

  • Excellent data analysis, presentation, written and verbal communication skills

Preferable Skills:

  • Good understanding of digital and social media channels, monitoring and evaluation tool

  • Knowledge of eCommerce tools such as Clavis

  • Knowledge of Google Analytics or other web analytics tools

  • Knowledge of Big query
