Section 2:  Job Summary

Digital Education lead for the American Brands DMI is responsible for generating advocacy and building an international stylist community across all brands. Key role in shaping the digital education strategy and working closely with the heads of education and digital to ensure our brands are at the forefront of all digital education needs. This role will also be responsible for analyzing the digital education efforts, competitive landscape, future trends, brand assessment and gaps to fill. Digital Education lead will work closely with the team in Paris to communicate brand goals, KPI’s and analytics, communicate division strategies, ensure teams have the tools to lead the industry I digital education initiatives. Additionally, will be responsible for digital education advocacy, seeking new talent, digital upskilling curriculum, and representing the hairdresser point of view.

 

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Define digital education strategy for American brands
  • Generate advocacy and build global stylist communities across all brands
  • Analyze success of brand platforms and content
  • Competitor education analysis
  • Assess future trends in digital education
  • Liaise with Paris access/digital education team
  • Identify online top talent
  • Develop strategies for upskilling brand artists on digital, develop digital related curriculum
  • Bring hairdresser point of view to digital team
  • Deliver digital education best practices to DMI teams and countries on a regular basis
  • Deliver education related intelligence and reporting on a regular basis

Section 3:  Job Requirements

  • 5-7 years digital education experience with specific deep understanding of online digital education strategies
  • Strong understanding and the use of current online/digital technology to drive brand experiences
  • Knowledge of web based technologies to design and develop dynamic web-based and mobile integrations and applications specifically for education
  • High proficiency in in Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Analytics
  • Deep understanding of professional, hair salon industry, hair stylists, etc.
  • Candidates with cosmetology licenses, experience working in/managing salons or who have other types of significant work experience with hair salon professionals will be preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of, or ability to grasp, PPD divisional education priorities and strategy
  • Understanding of how to deploy education through digital and social media platforms
  • Knowledge of education content best practices
  • Experience with brand artists and professional influencer identification and success measurable
  • Knowledge in interpretation of digital analytics to inform overall digital education strategy
  • The ability to function as part of a team
  • Open and adaptable to change
  • Well-defined organizational skills

Section 4:  Judgment and Decision Making

The incumbent must exercise discretion and independent judgment on all tasks and must be able to work independently and make decisions when needed. Must be able to work autonomously and feel comfortable taking on large responsibilities. It is important he/she will use discretion on when to involve management in the day to day matters.  Moderate supervision or approval may be required for events and project work requiring analysis.  For management and organization of the floor and meetings, no supervision is required.

This position does not directly manage a budget but should have capability to do so if required.  Interacts with Finance as needed to resolve discrepancies or gain approvals.  Will process purchase orders when necessary
