Job Summary:

The role of Director of eCommerce Site Testing & Optimization will be tasked with understanding and optimizing our consumer’s journey through our quick-growing eCommerce channel.  Through the use of testing and other data-driven insights, this leader will help our brands create the “best-in-class” strategies that can be used on their websites.  This individual serves as a key subject matter expert regarding website testing & optimization and direct-to-consumer performance, including providing brands with industry standards for layouts and site merchandising.  The Site Optimization lead is an “outside the box” thinker that is constantly looking for new ways to improve our digital channels.  They will create a rigorous testing process that will allow for fact-based insights and scalability across brands when necessary.  We are looking for a consumer-focused, analytical content marketing professional who is a skilled communicator and has a proven track record of building and developing a team of diverse individuals.

This role drives collaboration and influences multiple levels of leadership to execute on the following key deliverables.

  • Develop a comprehensive strategy for testing and site optimization that can be used and scaled across the L’Oreal Luxe Portfolio and empower brands to better create and optimize eCommerce channel strategies.
  • Lead a team of individuals responsible for testing & site optimization across for the Luxe team portfolio of brands.
  • Provide brands with best practices observed across the Beauty industry and non-Beauty industries, including successful insights learned across other internal brands.
  • Adapt and cultivate a “measurement as a religion” mindset across teams and brands.
  • Develop, measure and track the KPIs for success across the division.  This leader should help further a culture obsessed with these success factors and determining the necessary levers to improve the business.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (including but not limited to supply chain, platform/site teams, merchandising and media) to discover and synthesize the relevant insights that can be shared across the organization and developed into omni-channel programs and campaigns.
  • Be the brand expert for all data-related questions and insights.

Job Requirements:

  • 7-10+ years working in website development, testing/optimization & management; direct to consumer eCommerce is a plus.
  • College Degree
  • Experience with people management a plus, as this role will manage direct reports
  • Expert knowledge and skill with data, data management, data activation and statistics, particularly as it relates to eCommerce and consumer analytics
  • Expertise in testing platforms such as Google Optimize, or other best in class tools.
  • Demonstrated strength in communication and influencing skills; not only written and verbal, but also in the engagement of internal and external business partners
  • Strong computer skills necessary (All Microsoft Office programs) with heavy focus on site optimization & web developer tools.
  • Passion for user-centric design; commitment to research, competitive analysis, user/stakeholder reviews, analytics and un-biased recommendations in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Related work experience which demonstrates an understanding of and skill in the confluence of brand management and direct-to-consumer marketing principles
  • Ability to lead presentations and effectively analyze and translate data into actionable business plans
  • Highly collaborative across different stakeholders in a matrixed environment

Judgment and Decision Making:

This role will require a balance of analytical thinking, communication skills and data management skills as it will require a demonstrated ability to develop consumer knowledge and insight and to act on the data in collaboration with internal brand & external account partners. It requires constant interaction within a matrixed business structure (Marketing, Ecommerce, GM, CMO) to coordinate work and deliver objectives. Actively builds networks and becomes in-house expert on the account database to influence, convince, and introduce new ways of executing a variety of strategy. This position will require moderate supervision to maintain a proper corporate direction.

Financial Scope:

$500m+ growing direct to consumer eCommerce business.
