Director – Digital Innovation

Job Summary

This role is responsible for the global roadmap and service strategy for a portfolio of professional hair brands. This includes websites, apps, connected technologies, diagnostic tools, virtual-try ons, and other digital innovations. From a strategic planning perspective, this role is focused on developing a forward-thinking integrated ecosystem to meet the needs of ecommerce, CRM, and related consumer and professional brand experiences in markets around the world.

The ideal candidate will be able to communicate to business partners the vision for the roadmap, define the KPIs for success, measure the results, and use data to make informed decisions. Day-to-day responsibilities include functioning as the key digital point person for all the brands global digital properties and acting as a liaison between the brand, local markets, IT, and outside partners. This position requires extensive coordination and partnerships cross-functionally with multiple international teams. Experience should include excellent qualitative and quantitative skills and very strong project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and innovate global brand websites and apps to reach consumers and professionals and expand the brand’s presence worldwide.
  • Develop enhancement roadmap for all digital properties and manage the execution from day-to-day oversight of partners through to budget management.
  • Gather requirements from brand teams related to new enhancements and experiences.
  • Communicate to key stakeholders in global markets and liaise with country digital teams on a regular basis.

Job Requirements

  • 5-7 years digital experience with a deep understanding of website development and project management
  • Working knowledge of Demandware / Sitecore and other content management systems
  • Strong understanding and the use of current online/digital technology to drive brand experiences
  • Knowledge of web based technologies to design and develop dynamic web-based and mobile integrations and applications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to effectively manage relationships with diverse international internal and external contacts
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • High proficiency in in Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Analytics
  • Experience in Fashion and Beauty a plus

Judgment and Decision Making

The incumbent must exercise discretion and independent judgment on all tasks and must be able to work independently and make decisions when needed. Must be able to work autonomously and feel comfortable taking on large responsibilities. It is important he/she will use discretion on when to involve management in the day to day matters.  Moderate supervision or approval may be required for events and project work requiring analysis.  For management and organization of the floor and meetings, no supervision is required.

Financial Scope

This position does not directly manage a budget but should have capability to do so if required.  Interacts with Finance as needed to resolve discrepancies or gain approvals.  Will process purchase orders when necessary
