Product Owner, eRetail Accelerator

Summary: 

The eRetail & Amazon Tech Accelerator is an advanced analytics capability that L’Oreal has built to drive eCommerce growth launched in 2020.  The tool currently supports the Amazon business combining 50M+ data points to measure all the inputs of the flywheel to drive insights to action and enhance executional excellence.  In 2021, the tool is expanding to other core retail customers. Operating under a Product Model, the Product Owner is the Business lead of a cross functional team including Digital IT, with key goal to own and define the eCommerce tech capabilities roadmap for L’Oreal USA to support and grow the rapidly evolving channel.  The Ideal candidate has CPG experience managing a commercial business or leading enterprise analytics & strategy for large eCommerce/retail businesses, with a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed across supply chain, operations and go-to-market retail strategy.  This role requires excellent cross-functional relationship management and the ability to understand and prioritize multiple business questions and use cases at a time, defining requirements and leading the product team to build the solution. This is also a highly visible role to senior levels of the organization and will require strong presentation and communication skills

Product Owner Responsibilities:

  • Gathers and synthesizes business needs and aligns requirements to establish a common vision of the product across internal/external stakeholders, business units, brands and senior leadership
  • Leads strategic roadmap development for tools and features supporting relevant business use cases across all brands in all eCommerce channels to build best in class products
  • Collaborates with business stakeholders on product evolution, adoption of capabilities and prioritization of releases
  • Translate Product vision into list of Stories to compile backlog and set of features for Product Team delivery
  • Actively owns and prioritizes the scope making real-time adjustments as necessary to identify quick win milestones and continuous improvement objectives
  • Contribute to the overall data architecture including the investigation of different data assets across multiple functions of the organization in order to allow the data team to gather requirements in the company’s data assets, platforms and processes
  • Owning ongoing projects like data integration, data visualization and data integrations in relation to the strategic roadmap
  • Ability to partner with internal and external groups to drive and to measure user adoption of these best in class tools
  • Demo Sprint outputs / working software to stakeholders on a regular basis for inputs to build feedback loop into backlog
  • Owns the ROI measurement and reporting to all stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Contributes to change management, education and thought leadership around the product
  • Evangelize platform and build engagement among brands and cross-functional stakeholders to define key current and desired use cases
  • Collaborate with IT and business resources to build and adapt features which will increase usability and measurable business impact
  • Train and upskill brands on how to make the most out of the tools in order to maximize uptake
  • Define, budget, forecast and gain approval for intermediary projects required to execute primary roadmap vision

Requirements:

  • 5 to 7 years of progressive experience managing high volume business-to-consumer eCommerce and digital marketing or analytics & strategy management or retail product management for the same
  • Strong technical background and thorough understanding of how to navigate complex digital tech stacks
  • Bachelor’s degree and interest in the beauty industry
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication/presentation skills; ability to influence at the most senior levels
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong bias for action and seeing things through to completion
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a rigorous timeline
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Advanced math and analytical skills
