Job Title: Category Manager Transportation – Director

As the Transportation Category Manager (North America), you will be responsible for the development of the transportation Sourcing Category in line with the North America Supply chain priorities. You will manage and implement sourcing strategies across L’Oreal North America in close partnership with the US and Canada transportation teams. You will optimize and manage a transportation spend of $214M covering manufacturing, supply chain, and retail/consumers. 

You will work with business leaders in the US and Canada as a key partner to optimize cost while enhancing overall value and assessing Category trends. You will be responsible for strategic sourcing, trend analysis, market drivers, stakeholder management, supplier management, continuous cost and performance improvement, and innovation. You will report directly into the VP of Indirect Sourcing – Logistics and Industrial Services.

Your responsibilities: 

  • To continue building a best in class Transportation sourcing organization through bold new ideas and ambition.
  • Proactively build transportation category strategies maximizing Competitiveness, Service, Quality, Sustainability, and Innovation.
  • In collaboration with transportation stakeholders, anticipate NA Category priorities and plans
  • Identifying synergies between Canada and US markets.
  • Translate and prioritize global category strategy for NA needs. Proactive exchange about the NA needs to influence global initiatives
  • Lead North America transversal initiatives and Contracts negotiations in alignment with business needs
  • Develop deep understanding of the market and identifying strong partners for L’Oreal.
  • Identify disruptive technologies and innovation that support L’Oreal ambition
  • Identify and Drive new carrier sustainable solutions that contribute towards the reduction of carbon in our supply chain, as part of our L’Oreal for the Future program.
  • Manage/consolidate NA category spend analytics and financial reporting


Your Experience / Education:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, category expertise, or related discipline; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • 5-10 years’ experience strategic sourcing/category management, transportation, or Supply Chain

  • Strong leadership skills and ability lead cross functional teams and influence decision
  • Strong project management, negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Ability to successfully manage expectations of stakeholders, leadership, and colleagues on key initiatives.
