As part of the Physical Distribution transformation journey we are looking to expand and support our current EHS teams on all 3 DC sites.  This role will act as support for the current team, ensuring we comply with current health and safety legislation, approved codes of practice and to provide guidance in relation to our group norms and policies to ensure we maintain a culture of safe working across our DC’s.  

You will be responsible for advising and assisting the business on the transformation of current facilities and equipment, as well as those in respect to future growth and expansion.  

The roles and requirements are varied but will essentially involve advising and assisting the business on the safety aspects of infrastructure, facilities and equipment changes and upgrades, guiding the business through their responsibilities by working with key stakeholders to deliver these key project elements. You will have at the core of your skills portfolio the ability to offer pragmatic and balanced advice and proactively apply those skills to support all the responsible parties involved in the delivery of facilities and installations, and at all levels.


You will

  • Have a passion for EHS and continuous improvement.  You will observe and apply the EHS management systems and policies of L’Oreal. 
  • Help manage and lead EHS actives in the DC, by managing prevention of risks regarding people, buildings and the environment.
  • Design and help deliver EHS training on site and drive EHS training programmes for the future.  Bring ‘SAFE@WORK, SAFE@HOME’ to life
  • Support the current EHS team to monitor, communicate and propose actions to ensure compliance with applicable EHS regulations
  • Carry out internal audits (control of non- conformities, implement and follow up correct actions), and support with external audits.
  • Contribute to investigations regarding accidents, incidents and occupational disease.
  • Be a key contact for on-site 3rd party contractors ensuring that they are delivering to the Service Level Agreement (SLA)
  • Manage and maintain site fire protection systems
  • Contribute to an exhaustive and accurate group EHS reporting.
  • Contribute to reduce the environmental impact in his/her perimeter of activity in support of the L’Oreal for The Future programme

You have

  • A thirst to learn, you will ideally posses or be willing to quickly achieve a managing safely IOSH qualification.
  • Achieved or willing to achieve within 12 months, an externally recognised H&S qualification equivalent to NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety  
  • Experience managing projects
  • A drive for autonomy – operating within the EHS team is an opportunity to really develop your problem-solving skills & demonstrate your ability to influence. 
  • A balanced approach to management, you can adapt and change priorities without compromising delivery
  • Strong analytical skill
  • A good understanding of EHS processes and best practices
  • An ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders, from warehouse operational teams, senior managers, to external customers 
  • A sense of humour – you will impact a number of large teams it is important that you create a positive and engaging environment so delivery with impact is important 
  • Good level of excel literacy and numeracy
