Job Summary: An exceptional opportunity awaits an innovative and strategic Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) professional within our dynamic Manufacturing organization. Located in Florence, Kentucky, this role is pivotal, offering you the chance to be the driving force behind the evolution of EHS practices at our Manufacturing site, reporting directly to the site lead.
As a strategic leader, you will spearhead the charge toward EHS excellence, making a profound impact on our organization's overall performance. Your responsibilities will span a broad spectrum, including leading a team of EHS professionals, taking ownership of EHS systems, fostering a culture of EHS focus and change, setting site goals for continuous EHS improvement and regulatory compliance, validating EHS improvement plans and budgets, and analyzing and validating monthly EHS indicators. Your influence will extend to site leadership, employees, and key leaders and client groups across our organization, requiring robust collaboration both within the L'Oreal network and the industry at large.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Budget Oversight: Coordinate and manage the site's EHS 3-5 Year CAPEX budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Master Plan Management: Own the site EHS Master Plan, driving comprehensive and forward-thinking initiatives.
- Collaborative Leadership: Work closely with EHS leadership across L’USA and the broader L'Oreal Group to leverage collective expertise and foster innovation.
- Sustainability Advocacy: Drive L’Oreal for the Future 2030 initiatives, including biodiversity preservation, energy reduction, transportable waste reduction, and water conservation, using budgetary planning and PDCA methodology.
- Talent Investment: Invest in the development of EHS talent through mentoring and coaching, while managing the EHS Bench Strength Plan.
- Safety Priority: Prioritize the elimination or reduction of LIFE 1 and LIFE 2 incidents through rigorous safety measures.
- Process Safety Expertise: Serve as the Process Safety Management expert for combustible powders, flammable liquids, and high-risk substances, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Ergonomic Assessments: Ensure ergonomic assessments for all workstations, with a particular focus on reducing Level 4 and 5 ergonomic risks.
- Culture Enhancement: Facilitate third-party culture surveys and associated action plans to nurture a culture of safety and sustainability.
- Incident Analysis: Conduct in-depth incident trending analysis for insightful animation and action planning.
- Compliance Assurance: Drive internal compliance audits and lead cross-functional teams in maintaining ISO 14001, 45001, and 50001 certifications.
- Data Accuracy: Ensure the timely completion and accuracy of GRAAL data.
- Contractor Safety: Guarantee compliance with contractor safety management standards via the ISNetworld application.
- Incident Tracking and Management: Oversee the tracking and management of all incidents through the LEAP application.
- Equipment Safety Validation: Track equipment safety (EHS) validations through standardized checklists in the KPA application.
- Business Continuity: Coordinate Business Continuity Planning for EHS, ensuring preparedness for any contingencies.
Key Qualifications + Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental, or a related science field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred. Certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM are required.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of Safety, Health, and Environmental experience, showcasing your technical expertise in OSHA, EPA, and NFPA standards.
- Auditing Proficiency: Lead auditor trained for ISO 14001, 45001, and/or 50001, demonstrating your commitment to industry-leading standards.
- OSH VPP Program Knowledge: Special Government Employee (SGE) or in-depth knowledge of the OSH VPP Program, highlighting your regulatory expertise.
- Process Safety Management: Proven experience managing and serving as a technical expert for Process Safety Management, ensuring the highest standards of safety.
- Sustainability Champion: Extensive experience managing sustainability initiatives, including water reduction, energy efficiency, waste reduction, and carbon neutrality.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven track record of working effectively with multiple cross-functional business area managers and stakeholders, resolving conflicting objectives through collaboration.
- Talent Development: Strong ability to mentor, develop, and coach individuals, fostering growth and excellence within your team.
- Deadline-Driven: Demonstrated success in meeting deadlines, even under pressure.
