Job Summary:  Performs all functions related to the shipment of goods.  All functions may require use of powered Industrial trucks, SAP, or RF as needed.


Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or G.E.D
  • One year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer knowledge to include Microsoft Word & Excel ( SAP experience a plus)
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
  • Must be able to work over time (including weekends)
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

 

Physical Requirements:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to handle; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear.  The employee will be on their feet the majority of the shift.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

 

Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Compares information and counts items of outgoing shipments to verify against sales orders or other records.
  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons and write and/or stamps
  • Identifying shipping information on cartons.
  • Assembles cardboard containers.
  • Inserts items into containers.
  • Binds containers with tape.
  • Stamps, writes, or adheres identifying information and shipping instructions onto containers.
  • Place packages ready for shipment in designated staging areas.
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Schedule and process International shipments, including bill of lading and NAFTA documentation.  Schedule carriers.
  • Post daily status of International orders and present at daily meeting.
  • Pick/pack shipments using scanners.
  • Print and assembles pick releases for picking; Print daily re-stocking report, identify which items, lot number, and quantities to restock, and physically restock the flow rack with physical assistance from other shipping team members.
  • Prepare Fed-Ex labels and process shipments on –line for picked and packed Fed-Ex shipments
  • Run UPS and end-of-day reports for drivers
  • Re-box damaged finished goods with new boxes.
  • Re-stock customer returns and perform the correlating transactions
  • Perform sub-inventory move transactions in management system and barcode scanner.
  • Collect, post, and present daily performance metrics.
  • Responsible for ensuring guns and packing stations are clear of all orders at the end of each shift.
  • Operates forklift truck, cherry picker or uses pallet jack to move, or convey products from/to storage or work area.
  • Perform end of day clean up duties
