What You Will Do:

 

The Manager, Sales Planning is responsible for reviewing weekly performance and assisting in the development and execution of business strategies to drive account objectives. This will include, but is not limited to sales analysis/reporting, forecasting, inventory and order management. This position is responsible for developing strong collaborative relationships with internal and external partners at all levels while maintaining L’Oréal’s company values to achieve strategic initiatives.  As part of the National Accounts Team, this Planner will support the following whole retailer accounts within It Cosmetics (e.g. Sephora, Sephora @ Kohls, Nordstrom, Macy’s, & new retailer, etc.).

 

Forecasting:  

  • Support P&L management: Forecast and track monthly retail and net sales at a topline, axe, and franchise level monitoring retailer orders for new launches and basic replenishment each week (Sell-in & Sell-through)
  • Provide weekly sales targets for stores, key launches, and COM business
  • Ensure forecasting alignment across Demand Planning, Marketing, and Finance teams for new product launches and key items; communicate account strengths, opportunities, and needs in monthly Demand Review and Consensus meeting.
    1. Discuss and action gaps to performance, white space, and incremental opportunities

 

Reports & Analysis:

  • Publish weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales reports to recap business, communicating areas of success and opportunity
  • Analyze business performance by category, product, comp/new stores, regions etc. as needed to guide and influence business-driving decisions 
  • Assist in tracking and processing approved contracts, chargebacks, and deductions as approved by Account Director
  • Market & Other Business Meeting Prep: Help prepare for sales and Market meetings as needed with decks, attendee coordination, gratis, etc.
  • Negotiate and maintain promotional contracts from execution to final claim.  Reconcile chargeback claims submitted by retailer for accuracy and validation (LEAP)
  • Manage Markdown budget for each retailer
    • Offline: Side-By-Side comparing events TY vs. LY
    • LEAP: Entering and updating all promotional events

Inventory Analysis & Management:

  • Analyze weekly inventory position to manage retailers’ seasonal sales/stock plan
    1. Troubleshoot inventory concerns or visual callouts from brand field team
  • Lead conversations with retailers to discuss stock needs, availability, and flow to maximize retailer open to buy and minimize disruption of business 
  • Review assortment by SKU rank quarterly (sales units/dollars) and partner with Marketing and National Account Director on recommendations for adds/edits to optimize each retailer’s assortment
  • Forecast potential returns and advise on sell down strategy to mitigate excess and obsolete inventory and support L’Oréal initiative of zero destruction

What We Are Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree and minimum of 3-5 years experience wholesale planning
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, results-oriented
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Comfortable presenting to small and large groups
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Analytical and creative in approach to identifying opportunities and solving problems
  • Financial acumen with P&L and budget management experience
  • Entrepreneurial risk mentality and innovative management skills
  • Thorough knowledge of the competitive landscape 
  • Proficient computer skills necessary – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
