Research Scientist - Hair Fiber

The Advanced Research team Singapore is involved in multi-disciplinary research across various fields and works very closely with both internal departments and external partners across the globe. Aligned with the mission of L’Oréal R&I, focus is to identify innovative concepts for development of novel cosmetic, dermatology and consumer care products.

The successful candidate for this position should be experienced in hair fiber, follicle or scalp research, with an established scientific track record. Basic understanding of designing and running clinical studies would be an added asset. The candidate is expected to be flexible in working within the external partner network of L’Oréal including working at the external partner's site. Ability to manage complexities and work efficiently in a team-oriented and a multicultural environment is a must have for this position. 

Selected candidate is expected to be a team player with an active interest in carrying out inter-disciplinary research, involving clinical, ex-vivo and in-vitro approaches.

• Strong academic credentials – PhD in biological sciences or related fields (must have)
• Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant research or scientific training record in hair fiber, follicle or scalp biology
• Basic understanding of designing and running clinical studies
• Research experience in microbiology or immunology is an added advantage
• Active interest in inter-disciplinary research and have experience working within industry-facing R&D environment.
• Collaborative mindset with demonstrated experience of working within a collaborative environment.
• Clear and effective communication skills
